The story seems to be popping up on some news media but not many of them. Guess they really don't want to talk about it or their news crews are all asleep.

That depends. On the one hand it's significantly less likely to receive mainstream support compared to the riots because very few people like their cities turning into warzones. On the other hand the fact that both parties were armed and ready to do this kind of thing is extremely concerning.

In the US or in France?

Because in the US, all you have to do is live in a non-shitty state and be willing to pay for a registered automatic weapon.

They are just insanely expensive because the machine gun registry is closed and so the supply can't be increased.

Of course, there are a couple good court cases to be made about that; but no one is crazy enough to bring them until after they get the standard of scrutiny for the Second Amendment established.

You also have to be able to get an automatic weapon, and since they aren’t making any new transferable machine guns that is easier said than done.
