I was OK with DeSantis for a while. Not on him running in 2024 but up to getting him to run 2028 and keep doing good work in Florida. Then he started trying to push to run in 2024 and I soured on him a bit, and now he has pushed to obviously trying to run while pretending he isn't and I cannot stand that sort of dishonesty and duplicity.

The law pretty much translates as "passing flyers that are offensive and hateful is a no no" because some people who don't like jews were pointing out a lot of media and politicians who are very anti-white and anti-USA are jewish. The law seems mostly aimed at disrupting people, on both sides, who want to go to college campus's and raise a ruckus about any cause enough to cause speaker cancellation or intimidation of the student body. So really a law designed to remove the 'heckler's veto' tactic the Left loves to use on college campus's against conservative speakers.

It was a response to people handing out fliers. That means that people can’t engage in that form of free speech and political activism if the powers that be deem their speech to be “hate speech” whatever that means.

Doing it in Israel makes it a lot worse in my opinion, the disloyalty and sycophancy it shows. To curtail to rights of Americans in symbolic subservience to a foreign nation is beyond despicable. Yeah, there are a lot of people blowing this up into something it is not, and treating this a 'grovelling to 'da Jews' for help/approval' because of where he signed it.

As I said before, this has all the hallmarks of a tempest in a teapot designed and manipulated to throw shade on DeSantis based off inaccurate descriptions of what this bill/law is about.

This is an anti-'heckler's veto' measure, designed to keep people of any cause from disrupting college campus's for their cause or trying to intimidate people not to speak at events.
