They got two chip manufacturers, will look up the details later, from what I remember they were abut decade behind the comparable western companies, but were considered good enough for military purposes.
A bit more than a decade behind(I think the best they can do is 65nm chips, which is a... 2009 technology, IIRC). But, yes, good enough for many purposes. I don't know if these manufacturers can sustain production, though - I don't know how much of their tools and manufacturing equipment is foreign sourced.

I was under the impression that the Russian manufacturer was only doing 65nm in the lab as of 2020, not actually producing it commercially, but I was not able to find out that much about it, so if you know for sure they were actually doing 65nm in meaningful quantities (vs. 90nm) I'd love to have that confirmed.

According to Russians, Mikron is doing limited 65nm production as of last year (they are listed amongst offered products), but don't know what their current production capabilities are, the main production line is certainly still 90nm. Unfortunately their page is banned here and wayback version is pain in the ass.
Also I was wrong about there being two chip producers, the other one has folded couple of years ago.

There is also the Chinese, who are capable of chips that size if I recall.

My understanding(the Asianometry channel on YouTube did a video on the Russian chip manufacturing recently) is that they were beyond lab production only for 65nm, but whether they have gone to full mass-production, I'm not sure(also, see Butch R. Mann's answer above). The above-mentioned Asianometry video quite explicitly says the Russians haven't been able to go below 65nm though: they were trying to build 45nm and 28nm lines, but failed to do so.

To be fair 65mm is sufficient for most military equipment.

Who is to say they won't be able to go further in the future? Or have put out disinfo that they can't?
They might be able to go further in the future, but I expect the gap between leading-edge tech and them to grow wider. I don't think that disinfo is likely.

ahhh...War-by-Proxy, how we love/loathe the.

Pretty much every one is some flavor of asshole in this conflict but the Russians need to have absolute control over a population twice that of russias to feel sucure and there is no way to accomidate that level of paranoia. It really is us or them and we want to make this war Russia last war.

And that means Ideally more then a million russians will die.

No one gives a shit about Ukraine except the Ukranians the real reason for the fight is to exaust the russian war machine so that nato doesn't have to fight them in an area we actually care about. Because of this we will fight to the very last Ukranian.
Where was Russia actually threatening to invade before this? And is that any better than NATO wanting to run the world and forcing regime change on Russia?

What is your basis for this claim? Russia literally has only really wanted a neutral Ukraine and allied Belarus. Every other claim against Russia's supposed imperialism is basically fear mongering without real sources.
So far only NATO or at least the US has been doing regime change operations all over the world. Russia has literally just been until this point defending allies in Syria or on their borders.

Russia's demographics are absolute shit, and when the soviet union collapsed so did their educational system. Realistically they will not have enough people to defend their current boarders. Because those borders are flat lands that are great for marching and tanks.

So their choice is simple if they go forward and plug all their defensive gaps then their military can defend Russia even though it will be much smaller. This is what they need to plug those gaps.

You can see that quite a few people would have a problem with this.
