That's actually me at 1:35 in the video. I saw the Press types down below and decided to do a barrel roll. It's wild it made it into this documentary. I honestly didn't think they'd take it so negatively. I wouldn't waste ordinance on a journalist lol.

We were actually on our way to take out One Franklin Square... not because the Washington Post was headquartered there, but because the building had a commanding view of the rest of the Capitol. But the Washington Post was taken out. It's weird, we released a full page ad in the Washington Post stating we were going to bomb that place the next day. But I guess no one read it. 💀

Had to copy and paste this. It's from Larry Correia on X/Twitter.

Okay, this tiny screen cap from that new civil war movie is enough to confirm that the filmmakers have got no fucking clue what they're talking about and I'm pretty doubtful they've ever been to any of flyover America, at all.

I'm saying this as a professional speculative fiction writer/editor AND one of those knuckle dragging wild red state gun nuts who is surely on several government To Do lists in case of Civil War 2.0.

So, if I was getting paid to write this story-
A. All those nice arbitrary state lines on the map? Horseshit. That's all going out the window day 1. It's gonna be regional and cultural balkanization. Period.

B. The biggest cultural divide in America is assholes who want to meddle in everyone else's business vs. people who want to be left alone. Every other hot button topic we have is related to that. Pick one to be the flash point, but it's all gonna come back to that.

C. The clearest divide between those two groups is rural vs. urban. There are no "blue states" or "red states". There are blue cities who out vote all the red country around them. This is true across most of the country.

D. Some people are saying California and Texas could theoretically team up, because the Ds are trying to turn Texas blue... Yeah, big difference between voting and civil war, because when the apocalypse rolls around regular old Remember the Alamo well-armed Texans would happily shut off all the water and power into Austin, say "lol good luck with that commies" and then shoot anybody who came out. It ain't about counting votes now, it's about counting bullets.

E. See D get repeated in every state to varying degree. There is a LOT of built up anger out there, the likes of which I don't think our elite urban betters even sorta comprehend.

E2. Like I can't accentuate this one enough. The only reason a lot more assholes don't just get shot in America is decent people don't want to serve time.

F. Like look at this dumb shit. Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, being together. Yeah sure. I live here. Makes sense. Us being allied with Portland or Seattle? Lol. The rest of Washington and Oregon DESPISE Portland and Seattle.

G. Even in the super red/blue states, opening day of Civil War Season means law has basically gone out the window, so there's a whole bunch of really useless and annoying people who get put with in these places by the locals, where suddenly, it no longer behooves the local population to do so anymore. So right out the gate it is score settling and blood grudge time. We aren't talking about North v. South now. We are talking Rwandan machete party.

H. Look at Nevada. Have these people ever been to Nevada? Nevada is not a lib state. Nevada is a zillion miles of desert and bitter cowboys with one liberal city that exists to take Californian's money. This is a city which literally should not exist according to the basic laws of nature, and once the water infrastructure is threatened, it's nothing but a source of refugees.

I. California is not a unified state either. I grew up there. The rest of California hates the two coastal cities which rule over them and treat them as serfs. Same with New York State, despising New York City, (and hell, half of New York City hates New York City)

K. Not related to the map, but apparently the heroes of this story are NEWS REPORTERS. :D Holy shit. Read the room, Hollywood.

I could write the shit out of a Civil War 2.0 screenplay, and unlike my lefty Hollywood counterparts, I can actually write about characters who aren't shallow versions of myself and still make them believable, but I won't hold my breathe about any studios calling me anytime soon. :D

There was another film like this titled Bushwick that I actually "liked" overall with a similar theme about this one. The first act of the film was amazing, because it thrusted this random main character into emerging into a literal insurgency unexpectedly with explosions and gunfire and everything going off and it did these long tracking shots that really added to the claustrophobic and tense atmosphere of utter confusion. The violence all seemed so random and chaotic but eventually you start to filter in what's actually going on as the protagonists meanwhile are trying to find a way out of the situation.

I'm actually hesitant on explaining it because... I think people would really like watching the first part of the film because its really good so I'll just spoiler the rest.

But then partway through the film one of the militants is captured and he reveals that Texas, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia and Georgia are seceding from the Union and to... I guess... pressure the Federal Government, they invaded New York City and a bunch of other places thinking they would be easy to conquer because they had strict gun laws. It then turned into the urban leftist version of Red Dawn only like bad. It because stupidly cheesy and nihilistic and while the filmmaking was still good with how it was shot it just dropped the ball with everything else.

Calfornia does have the most Conservatives of any State in the Union... at least... I heard that on the Internet or Radio or Television once so I'm pretty sure it's true. Anyways maybe the coastal bits of California fell into the sea or something so California suddenly went red.

I think it's because the people producing this - an UK company, IIRC - have zero comprehension of the actual fault lines of the US. The fact that the protagonists are the typical liberal family plus a bunch of obviously liberal journalists just scream 'we have no connection to the real world' on top of that.

Given that this is a hot topic, I’d also argue it is vaguely irresponsible as well to put out such a thing. Especially if it gives the libs all the wrong ideas of how a civil war would unfold.

That aside, I strongly doubt they’d be able to capture the horror of such a situation. This would be a conflict about as vicious as the Yugoslav Wars on a truly monumental scale with both sides carrying out atrocities regularly.

Yeah, it'd be Rwanda with guns, and it would be horrific as one obvious tactic would be that Red would simply cripple/occupy all the critical infrastructure in the countryside that the urban Blue needs to actually survive. The potential death toll of such a conflict is staggering.

If you really want a take on what a ACW2 might look like, go read Blaine Lee Pardoe's Blue Dawn Series. I think 3 books are out. I've read the 1st two, and they are pretty good.

Almost five years ago America as everyone knew it, came to an abrupt end in a spectacular coup d'etat. It was called the Liberation by those progressives and radicals that screamed for its outcome; the Fall, by its victims whose freedoms were trampled. The White House and the Capitol were overrun by anarchists and the leaders of the once-proud nation were either imprisoned or sent to Social Quarantine Camps. The President was arrested and eventually died in prison, or so everyone was led to believe. America was rebooted in a new progressive/socialist image, Newmerica. The United States of old was gone, its history erased and rewritten, its icons destroyed. By the time people tried to organize resistance it was too late. The citizens lost their history, their flag, their traditions, their freedoms, and their leaders. Newmerica is a state of reparations, citizens turning on citizens, where even the churches are targets of social justice.

Five years later, an unlikely group of patriots emerges from the shadows seeking a restoration of their nation. Two Secret Service agents struggle with their secrets from the night of the Fall. One son of a patriotic college professor struggles with his father's legacy and the important artifacts that his father managed to preserve. A young man finds himself face-to-face with the lies the Newmerica government has told him and forced to become a fugitive. A covert operative of the new government seeks out the truth about the 'traitor-President's' fate while coming to terms with her own dark past. Twists of fate or destiny bring these people together with the mission of trying to save what is left of the once-United States.

Time is running out as the forces of the government hunt down this group of renegades – hoping to smother, once and for all, any trace of what was America.

Ripped from today's headlines, bestselling and award-winning author Blaine Pardoe presents an eerily realistic view of an alternate history political thriller where conservatism is a crime and patriotism is treason.

I don't know, guys, but this sounds like one of the most stupid setups for a 2nd US Civil War, ever. And the lib bias is cringeworthily obvious. Daring journalists, gay sniper dude, obviously racist white soldiers -- sounds like a very overused playbook by now.

The phrase ‘predictive programming’ springs to mind. That and trying to poison the well.

Also the ideal of California and Texas being the the same side isn’t as stupid if I sounds, IF you logic it as the right-wing areas having been able to take over or suppress the majority blue areas.

Edit: and People have already pointed this out, so I’m just stating the obvious like a moron.

How did the Liberals managed to pull that off in the story?

I mean a bunch of anarch-kiddies isn’t exactly what I’d call the most disciplined force. Did the entire US armed forces manage to get completely taken over and the Right just rolled over or…?

a series of increasingly large 'demonstrations' with support for the inside. That's to be expected in any coup, and that's all I'll say so as to prevent spoilers. Pardoe does a good job of showing how everything...snowballed.

Western forces don't make sense.
Florida Alliance should include Texas
California going rogue would make sense they're schizo AF
I guess the Loyalist states are fine

Yeah I can fix most of those mistakes...

"Great Khan Empire" Western Forces.

"New" Republic of California.

Second Republic of Texas "Brotherhood."

"Independent Modders" Florida Alliance.

That is…quite a mess of a map. Wouldn’t California nominally be loyalist? Them going the full independence route would probably need an aggressively conservative government in charge and even that’s a stretch.

Probably something like

Jeb Bush gets elected as a third party President instead of Trump causing a split in the conservative parties

Does a faction like the Western Forces even make sense, given the general low population density of these states?
