China ChiCom News Thread

One Chinese quote is good iron does not go into nails.
Indeed.
As much as the CCP's reaction to the tragedy is infuriating, what aggravates me the most is the fact that it was theoretically avoidable. If they hadn't cut so many corners building that gymnasium, or if those irresponsible idiots hadn't decided that piling construction material on its roof was a good idea; those girls would still be alive. Unfortunately, with China's culture being so short-sighted, self-centered, and ignorant, these sorts of things are inevitable.
I expect protests that the CCP will try to hide. A lot of protests happen in China. But most of the time the CCP call in favors in the MSM to bury the news.

Guess that explains why Chinese construction sucks so much.
And when it doesn't suck, it is overpriced and comes with caveats. Such as a the African Union building that was severely bugged for years.

No wonder they had such wonderful relations and trades with Africa.

As a side note : if you look at Angola (Portuguese speaking Africa) you can notice that the MPLA (which went from being backed from the USSR to now PRC), the party that is considered the main reason behind the liberation movement of Angola (there were others of course, but they lost so in this case history belongs to the victors) has being steadily loosing ground to Savimbi's founded party UNITA, in my opinion not only because of Dos Santos corruption and his daughter's but also because of Chinese influence and pseudocolonial immigration.

It would not surprise me if by 2032 you will have a UNITA government just because the MPLA during Do Santos has decided to be a monetary Sinophile since the beginning of this century.

Article on the elusive species known as the Chinese Billionaire.

BBC said:
In 2015 alone, at least five executives became unreachable, including Guo Guangchang, chairman of conglomerate Fosun International, which is best known in the West for owning English Premier League football club Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mr Guo went missing in December of that year, with his company announcing after his reappearance that he had been assisting with investigations.

Two years later Chinese-Canadian businessman Xiao Jianhua was taken from a luxury hotel in Hong Kong. He had been one of China's richest people and last year was jailed for corruption.

In March 2020 billionaire real estate tycoon Ren Zhiqiang vanished after calling Mr Xi a "clown" over his handling of the pandemic. Later that year, after a one-day trial, Mr Ren was sentenced to 18 years in prison on corruption charges.

The most high-profile disappearing billionaire was Alibaba founder Jack Ma. The then-richest person in China vanished in late 2020 after criticising the country's financial regulators.

The latest disappearance is of Bao Fan, the founder of China Renaissance Holdings which has among its clients Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba. His vanishing comes in the wake of his statement that his company is working with PRC Regulatory Authorities.

It's believed this maybe related to President Xi and the CCP's ongoing crackdown of the financial industry for whatever reason.

@Husky_Khan my best guess is that the CCP see their own billionaire compatriots as an asset that might turn into liabilities as it happened in the US with individuals like Bezos, Dorsey, Zuckerberg and others. I wouldn't be surprised if jealousy plays a big part in the disappearences as well because their politicians are not exactly the modest type (like the one who had a number of lovers and concubines that surpassed three digits) and it takes no effort to be in the sights of the Party officials, REGARDLESS how much you contributed to the country.

The only thing equal in mainland China is that everyone can be on the chopping block in a matter of literally batting an eye.

Though after what happened to Farage (also a China critic) I would take what they post and report with a grain of salt since they are the main reason the lad is in the situation he is currently.

Ping is going full absolutist, he's already purged the government of all desent and is now doing so to the country in general. This by the way is why chinese millionares and up are fleeing the country and buying up real estate in western countries to get the hell out.

Losing half your money beats being dead after all, this will likely backfire as it has numerous times in chinese history. Either the country collapses if Ping dies and goes to civil war, or he does something that so pisses people off that society goes into full revolution.

@Cherico I wouldn't jump the shark so easily. I am not a China pessimist or optimist but I think the number of times of the end of China that has been announced in the past I am pretty sure has already surpassed the double digits. It's nowhere close to a hundred or half or a quarter of that but plenty of snake-oil-salesmen such a Peter Zeihan have predicted the collapse of the bastards too many times and have been wrong until now.

Personally I think even a Biden re-election (which I don't wish just as everyone here on The Sietch) IS LIKELIER than a collapse of China.

China as of today is the most skilled economic game of Jenga ever played.

And predicting when its going to fall is difficult but predicting it is going to fall is pretty easy because honestly Chinas staring down so many problems coming up all at once that its not even funny. Their saving grace is that most western countries made similar mistakes to a lesser degree which will fuck them up at the same time.

So I very much doubt any one is going to have the ability to meddle with china while it deal with its issues because most people will have problems of their own.

Its going to be a shit show of a decade in other words.

I understood once COVID hit and confirmed with the Potato in Office.

The people who lived in france before the revolution felt very much the same, as did the people who lived in the soviet block before the collapse. The decay of a time is always dominated by fools it never lasts forever.
That had been the case. Time will tell if it will remain so, or for how much longer.

@Cherico do remember what happened after the French Revolution fully took place ? Not only there was revolutionary terror against anything and anyone who potentially wasn't on board, but it was also filled with demagoguery (Robespierre made his own pseudo-atheist cult) and then autocracy (Napoleon) and the fall of the USSR gave rise to monopolistic and hegemonic powerhouses that are against traditional values and common decency and common sense, the ones who not only went intentionally on a rampage of whack-a-mole against assumed enemies (Iraq) but has being telling us for the past decade that us just by dissenting from the neoliberal norm, are the "baddies". To add insult to injury for two years (2020-2022) they tried to poison us.

So.... I am not too ecstatic about the future...I hope I will live in a place where I can metaphorically turn my house/home into a fortress and be able to defend myself.

The future is going to be a shit show no doubt, but I suppose its only historical irony that the children of Robespierre end up losing power in the same fashion they removed the ancient regieme.

So yes I think your right but it might also be the painful medicine needed to save the west at least for a time.

I mean, we really arnt?
The dollar will not be replaced by the Yuan or what ever the Chinese one is called because it does not have the same power.
They would be trading in the US Dollar.

Just watch China uncensored and channels like that if you want more truthful side to these things because foreign nations will do what ever it takes to discredit the US and have been
