Everyone has border disputes. My neighbor and my wife disagree about the exact location of property line and where the fence should be.
They're arguing over fractions of inches and I don't give a shit because the guys and gals who will build the fence seperating them can't be that precise.

There aren't many countries which can take on two nuclear armed countries which hate each other at the same time.
China can't. India would nuke the Three Gorges Dam within minutes and call it a day because they have issues with China which aren't going to be resolved at any time which could be called "soon".

Naw. "Let you and him fight" would have been the better option. The United States or the British Empire could go toe-to-toe with Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan simultanously while alone expect to win. The US and UK were on the same side and it wasn't fair.
