Yeah the one child policy did backfire because people preferred male babies to female ones. But all things reach an equilibrium, also the effect is pretty overstated, I just used google. to find number of Chinese women. No other country had a one childbpolicy for a long time, slowing down population growth and making a large diffrence in age gap
n 2019, there were around 715 million male inhabitants and 685 million female inhabitants living in China, amounting to around 1.4 billion people in total.
That's what the first thing said, so there would be 100 million males that won't be able to find a local Chinese wife. But there are 600 million who can, that won't cause demographic collapse. This could cause instability issues since men without the ability to get a wife will be restless. In fact I've heard that one reason for the middle easts instability is that because of polygamy there are groupd of men that can't get a wife since some men have more than one, and that causes tension. But this can be fixed a few ways, China is a second world nation they can import women from the 3rd world allowing them to live as Chinese citizens in exchange for marrying a local Chinese citizen. Now since China is 2nd world it won't be as attractive a destination as 1st world nations like America, Canada, Germany, etc. But I'd rather live in China or Russia instead of most places in Africa so they could get quite a few people that way especially if they are welcoming as opposed to 1st world nations that will want to not allow too much immigration. They could also allow homosexuality or trannies to ease the pressure. I mean there are options, and obviously a gender imbalacne will cause instability but it's not a guranteed collapse.
