It will be interesting having a map that tells you what type of ammo for firearms is most common in each country, though I think most of the world we find out that is the AK series ammo barring NATO, LATAM, Singapore and Phillipines.

It's the only replica STG-44 available, original articles are far too rare and expensive, not to mention requiring an FFL to purchase.
Which is lame. Why would you make a replica of an iconic firearm like that and then have it shoot .22LR and not something like .223?

so.... in news of gun collection news...
Tuesday, I bought a lovely, used Ruger Security-Six in 357mag w/ the 6" bbl.
Thank you Dad, for the Christmas money.
Today, I finally, finally sold my Won-in-a-Raffle Henry Golden Boy in 30-30.
Sold it to a Good neighbor, so he got a nice deal at only $600.
Hate to see it go, but I wasnt shooting it and I needed the cash.
... because the minivan had a sparkplug and coil grenade and try to eat the engine.
SMH and FML.
Murphy really, really hates me.

sorry to bring the thread down, but i have some bad news related to one of the more unique guntubers;
Paul Harrell has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

There's an attempt at getting Paul Harrell's channel to a million subscribers.

Paul himself commented on the video stating that while he didn't ask anyone to do it, he thinks its pretty cool and appreciates it.

Because the company that makes it, German Sport Guns GmbH, pretty much exclusively specializes in .22LR replicas.

Also, I hear that GSG guns have a wee bit of a reputation (to be not so good). Metallurgy is not so great, too much ZnAl and too little steel. I wanted their 1911 in 0,22LR but even the gun shop owner advised against it...

Is that a PKM?

If so, it's nice that someone decided to finally make a PKM look cool.

PKM's are good guns though, very reliable, and just as importantly, very light for a squad machine gun. If what I read from one former VDV veteran of Afghanistan is true, they preferred carrying at least a few if not several PKM's per squad if they were available.

I'm not saying they weren't good. They served me well in my support role in Battlefield Bad Company 2 multiplayer, and to a lesser extent Far Cry 3.

But no bare chested Rambo was firing one from the hip one handed.

Sad.

EDIT:

He almost did when handling the PKM in Rambo III but almost doesn't count.

So MANY things wrong with that movie, LOL! It honestly reached "so bad it's good, sorta" territory.

Is that the movie where your future enemies are shown as heroic and people seemingly forgot about it ?

Your original observation about Rambo III is about as old as the Mussolini dictatorship was. And even less triggering.

Rambo II gets all of the good press, but I feel Rambo III had higher production value and really leaned into the cheese which I feel is what those middle Rambo movies really were about. The first movie was actually quite the drama and Rambo IV had a big body count... but the tone actually matched the content.
