Bidengate in which a meth head son and possible child abuser ruins your political grift

Well, either they start paying attention or a I fear we'll just have to make due without their explicit support when it comes to fixing things.
If they don't start paying attention soon, they're not going to be able to brace themselves for the consequences of all this; which in and of itself will probably be punishment enough for letting things get this bad due to their sheer apathy/ignorance.

The consequences they cannot deny are going to be long enough coming that many will simply not live to see them.

The short term consequences can be partly dismissed as a consequence of the Wuhan Flu and it's vax's, and the current issues can in some ways be papered over with the general economic downturn globally since early 2022.

The people who put us in the current mess will likely die of old age before the truly devastating raminfications of their generation's choices become undeniable.

its unfortuantly the nature of the world that ones children and grandchildren pay for the sins of their forebearers.

Probably; but the ones who refuse to lift even a finger to help try to drag us out of the hole their forebears dug (or worse; actively sabotage efforts to do so) deserve what's coming almost as much.

Hunter getting a sweetheart deal for his shit, just like Epstein did.
It's my (admittedly limited) understanding that the sentence is pretty reasonable in relation to the charges that were actually filed. It's a little odd IMO to characterize it as a "sweetheart deal" by comparing it to allegations that never made it to court.

Better to keep "they should have charged him with more" separate from "they went too light on him on the charges that went forward".

The lies about the drugs on the 4473 form related to his gun should have been 10 years EACH, never mind anything about the tax shit.

And lets not forget the whole kiddie porn shit from his laptop that the entire DoJ and US gov has hushed over.

"kiddie porn shit" is exactly what I meant by "it's fine to bitch about stuff you think they should have been able to bring charges on, but didn't". As for the actual charges meriting 10 years in jail, I had heard that they are rarely considered being even worth prosecuting, let alone that ... not so?

P.S. Do you really mean multiple lies on the same form should be punished with multiple 10-year sentences?

This is EXACTLY what prosecutors tend to do in order to gin up the charges so a suspect is threatened with massive incarceration times. They do this in all formats, written, photographic or digital.
And Bacle is saying that not only is this a completely reasonable thing to do, but it would be unreasonable to not do it.

Also doesn't that tend to happen more in threats than in the final charges that people are actually found guilty of? After all what we're seeing here is the plea deal.

Ok, fair enough.

Eh, I thought the ATF and Federal prosecutors loved excuses to hit people for lies on 4473s, if they could catch them in it.

Sometimes DA will treat every lie on the same sheet as a separate charge, to stack on time for leverage purposes for plea bargains.

Basically, they couldn't risk prosecuting him under the drug + gun crime because they know the law is unconstitutional and his lawyers told the prosecutors that they would all take it to the Supreme Court. So those charges were irrelevant because the prosecutors want to preserve the laws to bring against those who can't fight it as well.

Further, just doing meth by itself is hardly a crime, and they were never going to bring CP charges even if they know they have the evidence. The good thing about them not bringing CP charges is that if a Republican takes office, he can bring them as they aren't barred by double jeopardy, but that's about the only good news.

Unless Hunter gets a pardon for all crimes he has commited including what he hasn't been charged with.

I mean, the guy was a bastard and his whole family is scum, but this is abuse on par with what they did to Stan Lee.
