You might be forgetting that Monocropping was the way for a while, and is still pretty popular. The North around this time is just barely entering the Medieval Period, and the other kingdoms will be by far more advanced. that was how it was for ages, seeing as the Andals invaded with steel weapons and the Northmen still somehow beat them back with bronze. The Northmen are pretty resilient. I'd say the Dragons and Tywin Lannister are the only few things that have humbled them.
I didn't mention monocropping. Or anything about crops at at all. I mentioned the scythe. Without which you're not likely to make enough hay for even one farm animal, let alone cows, sheep, horse, etc. Contrary to what you may think, animal feed doesn't all come from crop fields. In fact, most of it doesn't come from crop fields. It comes from grass fields far away from home that people need to take a scythe, fork and rake to every season. Often twice. Sometimes three times.

How exactly have people been collecting hay or aftergrass the past few thousand years if they didn't even have the measly scythe? By hand? With a sickle?

For Ages and Ages, the handheld Sickle was used. The Sickle was like a knife and while effective, wasn't the best. The Sickle wasn't invented until around 500 BC, which for most of the civilized world was a few centuries into the Iron Age. In my mind, The North is just barely into the Iron Age, so it fits.

I forget, that snow schield lakes from freezing too much.During winter war soviets tried to use tanks on lakes, sometimes it worked, sometimes not, becouse of snow - it schielded lake,so ice was so thin that tanks sunked.

About scythes - it is perfect tool and perfect weapon, too - both royalists in Vandea and poles in 1793 used them succesfully to take enemy cannons and even win battles.Althought both sides ultimatelly lost.
After another polish uprising in 1863 russians forbid owning scythes for some time.Becouse we won few battles thanks to units using them./possible only becouse most russian infrantry still used muskets/

All in all - perfect weapon against enemy without plate armour. And in SI times there were not much of them,if any.

Well, ok then. Since this means a really big explosion in crop and livestock, and therefore population, I'll take it. Faster than in real life too, I think, with how you can just chain harvest and heat seasons between winters.

I meant Scythe at the 500 BC part. THe Sickle was used since times where we roamed as Monke

Chapter V

"Your Grace, I wasn't expecting a visit from you." The Monotonous voice of Othon Bolton said. He was twenty and six, around what I'd assume to be six foot three by Earth standards and had a clean shaven face, with blood red hair pulled back into a bun. He was the exact look I expected from the man of his house. "And I wasn't expecting you to bring your sister."

Lord Othon's grandfather, Rogar 'the Red King Reborn' Bolton rebelled against my father when he began his reign. Infact, it was during that rebellion that he earned the title of 'The Strong' when he shattered the bronze sword of Rogar with his bare hands. he tore Rogar's head off, his head is still mounted on one of the many spikes in on Execution Way. "Lord Bolton, I do not think it needs to be said that our houses have been at odds for years past. Even in light of recent events our houses have hated each other for ages."

Lord Bolton obviously fought a sneer, I guess old wounds fester unchecked. "Yes, I remember seeing my grandfather clearly on the way through the gates..." hmm. His emotions are showing far to easily. He must've really loved that flaying cunt. They never found my aunt and uncle's skin... "Yes, and while changing the past is impossible, we can change the future." I was never a fan of the "Kill the Boltons" group. The Boltons were the most loyal to the north, and when Roose saw the chance to save The North from TOTAL destruction, he took it. Even though it killed many sons of The North, he would've succeeded in keeping the northmen alive if a period of peace began. Of course, nothing that simple ever happens.

"What I am trying to say is, I would like to marry your Sister to my brother. I plan to give him Lordship of Cape Kraken, and allow him to make a cadet house to House Stark. Think of the house as a... peace offering, if you will." And the bait was set.

"And how do I know that she won't be brutalized? Your brother has not oft spoken fondly of House Bolton. I can't see him or my sister getting along." He was pushing it by saying scandalizing things of my brother, even if they were true. "I assure you, he will not lay a hand on your sister, he knows not to do such things. In time I can say he will grow to love her, your sister is a fascinating lady." She was pleasant to be around. I've already know the type of woman I must marry. I will not let there be a Red Wedding.

"Hmm, I shall acquiescence. However the wedding shall be postponed until after Cape Kraken is Captured, and not a moment before." I nodded in agreement. It was the least I could do. Though They'll have to get busy, death stops for none.

Do you plan on eliminating house bolton in the future? Like eliminating the main line and having a descendant of the sister's line to claim the dreadfort? I think that they will always be plotting against house stark for as long as they exist, like its in their nature. Great beginning by the way am already hooked :D

Cape Kraken - you mean ironborns, right ? then you need fleet. What about introducing galleons ? with scorpions and maybe fire throwers.
P.S british navy used so called "boarding pike" till 19th century. You could introduce it to your navy, too.

Chapter VI

Ahh yes, the Navy. The one thing the Northmen neglected. Why? Because one man died at sea so another decided that boats were evil. Not the smartest men, these Northmen are. Anyways, Arc II, begins!

~

It had been about a month, and not but a day after the Harvest and the snow was already falling. It was a short summer, so we can expect perhaps a seven month long winter, but this winter things shall change. I’ve already begun the creation of War Scythe’s, made in the Polish designs, however I do need one thing if I want to take Cape Kraken. A Navy.

You see, I don’t just want to take Cape Kraken. I want to take the Iron Islands and extirpate the Ironborn from the Island. I get it, Why would you wipe out an entire people? Didn’t you fight against such atrocities? Well, my plan isn’t to kill them, but to spread them out so thinly that the culture disappears. The North is huge, and the Ironborn population is small. Those who do not fight will be spread out through The North, and their children will grow up Northern, live northern, and will never see a coastline.

Meanwhile the Iron Islands will be populated with new lords, my Brother to be named lord of Great Wyke. The Rest of the Islands? Given out to anyone who shows worth during the Campaign. I don’t care if they’re Noble or Smallfolk, all will get a piece of the pie

My plan to build a navy was simple. I would build three Galleon’s built off the Spanish Galleon, one will be built out of Ironwood, and shall be the Capital Ship. There shall also be twenty Cogs built. This should be enough to capture the thirty something Longships stationed at Cape Krakens Harbor.

I also have begun orders for the collection of Charcoal and Bat Guano, whilst the Manderly’s have been ordered to set sail for Dragonstone, to colonize it with Northmen. I even allowed them to create a cadet house there. Of course, the Island isn’t named yet, though Lord Hewyn Manderly has suggested using the name ‘Wolf Island’, though I simply told him to name it Dragonstone, due to the fact Dragon’s are likely there. What? There are cases of dragons in that Area, so it would make sense that dragons do, naturally live there.

Speaking of Dragon’s, I’ve finally learned High Valyrian. It was hard, but I did it. It was akin to latin, in a way, though a bit less… refined, I guess would be a way to put it. I learned it in my plan to go to Valyria and find a way to get my hands on everything to do with the hatching of Dragon’s. I'm sure that I could sneak around and find some, though it will likely be hard, I’ll need to plan for the Voyage, and be careful. I’ll be playing with fire on the voyage.

Back to the matter at hand, Hewyn is suppose to send people to the mountaintop to collect Sulfur for me, so that upon creation of Gunpowder, I can create something beautiful. The Hwacha. Unlike Cannons and Rifles, I can use this without the southern kingdoms being able to overpower me with them copying it.

I also decided to create the Brigandine, which should defend well against the Ironborn. The Iron plates under the boiled leather were nice, though I did add chainmail stitched under a boiled leather sleeve, it should make up from a major flaw in it’s design. All in all, I pray that my plan works, Though I will have to wait and see.

-

Before you ask, No, this stuff is not already made, merely stuff that is being planned. The Manderly's haven't even set sail, which should be after the next chapter, which shall cover Brandon and his new wife. See ya then!

Nice, story ,but you have a couple of problems
1 it's not threadmark
2 do you even have a compass or some way to tell which way you're going remember one the gold haired house lost their sword cause of that
3 how are you going fight back against dragons(if your in the time where Valyria is still around)
4 how will you fight the plague in Valyria if it's after the doom

Hwacha would do against ships and calvary, but fortyfications are another matter. But - trebuchet witch barrel full of gunpowder should do.
If there is no Targs on Dragonstone,Valyria must be still intact.Which means, that you should not goes there - they could decide to conqer North, and without modern tech fighting 300 dragons is impossible.
Even if you gat giants with bows, you need at least 10 for one dragon.I do not think, that there is 3000 giant archers behins a Wall.

Simple you need to know who your mc is and the characters around mc and if you know the characters well the story arcs will write itself ,but the minor details will be the problem ,but the other problem is you not stating when is this mc at,and wheather or not will you make your mc a Roland (Release That witch) or will you make him a regular joe if you choose the former you can research more and do stuff, but if you choose the later you can only research to help write the story, but not allowed to add more knowledge to your mc that he didn't know post reincarnation

Take your time. And decide what kind of story you want - building cyvilisation,adventure,horror/enough eldritch creatures there to made that/,harem or maybe just slice-of-life.
Once you decide, keep to your decision.
