In this exact case I think it's more that they're attacking Tex because he's now vaguely associated with Arch, who they really really really hate for various dubious reasons.

love tex and I really love the lore with it. still not a fan of the warhammer. could make it work on the table top but it seemed a bit under armored and with the MGs and SRMs a bit too prone to ammo explosions.

So you take Davion variant which removes machineguns and SRMs for more armor and heat sinks

Well, the MGs are nice for CQB when there's so much pesky infantry around. Also: update it with CASE?

My preferred mod drops the MGs and dumps that and the weight of that ammo into armor and a makes the SRM-6 a 4 in exchange for making the small lasers into medium lasers.

Almost broke the bank in Mercenaries 5 grabbing a T-Bolt and a Warhammer early. Ripped out the machine guns and the SRMs for armor and Medium lasers as others have mentioned, and my wingman still takes out the trash with it long after the T-Bolt got retired to backup duty.

I saw forty five minutes of the video before I had to go to work and didn't learn a thing about the Warhammer mech yet. It's an amazing video so far.

Who knew the Age of the Warship and the twenty year long conflict between the SLDF and Taurian Concordant or whatever could be so engrossingly relevant?

I can't wait to see a video on those topics!
