It's kinda sad because it curtails creative freedom: A talented author can write a character as being anyone and anything, even right down to being a racist, a homophobe, or even darker things. If you like or loathe the character, they've done their job to the readers.
But people on the Left? They presume the author
are such things, even if the guy or girl is Black and gay.
That's why I have respect for the authors like the writer of Youjo Senki -- His main character, Tanya, basically rips Communism to pieces to show all its flaws. The guy
himself is (apparently) a Communist.
The author of Cyberpunk? He's been accused of everything and anything in the past, including being racist. The guy is
Black, for fuck's sake.
An inverse example? Stephen King. The guy himself is a fucking Swiss cheesed brained, Leftist cunt. As a
person, he's a twat. As a
writer, even the controversial bits I dislike (like the orgy in IT?)? He's fucking
amazing. He's even wrote entire books he can't remember writing because he was
fucking coked out constantly at the time (I think it was Misery?).
A microcasm example is Spacebattles: If an author on there wrote a main character as being racist, they'd automatically presume the author is racist... Even if the guy is Black or Asian et cetera himself/herself. The thread would be locked or "monitored" quicker than the Sandwich Maker could make a cheese and rhye.
They want simple. They understand simple. Any complexity causes chaos with their worldviews.
