Much as I love the doom bricks of the EA showing up, practically you'd be wanting smaller vessels for a lot of these missions. Bigger than a frigate but not a mile long slab :p

Euderion on DA made a lot of great designs too. These Mass Effect designs could fit well in B5 universe too, since they are combination by Human ugly-but-efficient style, with a little bit of starfighter.

There is reason why Humans kept building battleships until 1946 and still built cruisers and battlecruisers even afterwards, despite being not very efficient and extremely expensive compared to smaller or bigger carrier: they looked fcking cool.

Carriers don't look cool as much.

Omega-class were basically soviet carrier cruisers in space, in the show they clearly refused to use ugly boxes full of fighters and bombers only. It wouldn't look cool in battle scenes.

I think the human ships from Halo have a better fit for Earth Alliance aesthetics.

Well, ME universe uses barriers/force fields/shields a lot. But I say B5 ships have pretty exposed engines themselves. Wasn't that the point of Omega's rear weaponry? Main source of energy should be the most protected part of ship, indeed.

By the way, what was the reason of not using any Shadow technology anymore after the Civil War? Devilish black Omegas looked sick, literally. Silly ideological bias against technology developed by 'evil' race?

They did, by the time of Crusade they had something very close to a pure Shadow vessel and were working on making their own technomages as elite soldiers.

It's one of the reasons I likely won't have the EA deploy a bigger ship than a Warlock, while the other nations all have huge super battleships Earth's super ship is this

Who wants the space version of a white elephant WWII Yamato when you can have a very practical stealth supercruiser that the enemy won't see coming until it fires, won't be able to target even when it can see it and any shot that manages to hit it will bounce on its extra special nanoarmor?

Answer: I know its an unnecessary expenditure but I still want the extraimpractical Yamato, if not for other reason to hide the fact that humanity got something better operating in the Shadows.

I'll probably end up deploying the Nemesis and Marathon from the RPG, though I'd probably class the Nemesis as just a Shadow tech Warlock.

There is the Medusa class I suppose, the ship from the Minbari War that had three times the firepower of a Nova. Maybe :)

There's a lot of wiggle room for more firepower too with AG tech I imagine.

The warlocks had GOD sat particle cannons and reactors, if they could trade stealth tech for Centauri ion cannons...I'd shudder to think what a gunboat could become.

Some of the wilder ideas for a theoretical sixth Babylon station you could pillage from if you so chose.

That is pretty funky :D
But if you were to shorten it by about half that would be what I was thinking for a fortress class, none of the extra space of B5 but with military grade hull and weaponry.
And also grey.
Beefier than a ring station but B4 would still be the king

Why not pilfer some of the EFNI stuff? That seems pretty good if you want a beefed up, but not wanky EA.

(Also, I'm amazed that stuff is still up. Gotta DL that whole site before it goes.)
Can you pass me a link? I lost sight of that one a few years ago.

Yeah, I think I mentioned Babylon 6 myself here before. Why not right?

"last of the babylon stations, there never will be another..."

LOL, that's why writers sometimes hate fanfics like they were forces of Chaos.
Although they could allow Season 6. Who cares the original plan were 5 seasons? So many shows were planned for few seasons max. and then we were forced to watch it ten or twelve seasons...

Good lord, he's WAY overdoing the size of those ships.
He's got some stupid thick armor, so that would go a decent way to explaining the absurd numbers.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if he high-balled everything and went, "Yeah, that sounds reasonable" due to lack of knowledge. I wouldn't be surprised if some conversion errors were in there too - I kinda get the feeling English was the author's second language.
