It does prevent a lot of families from moving, inhibiting spiuses from getting new jobs or children from going to schools.

It does make it known he is very serious.

Tuberville is against Joe Blow's post-Roe v. Wade-overturn policy of using federal funds to pay for the travel, time off, and accommodations of service members going for an abortion, as it would be against the Hyde Ammendment.

I'm amazed it's gone on this long to be honest. I don't think the administration will back down on the policy, so either he delays necessary promotions and degrades military readiness for nothing or he causes the Senate to either bypass or entirely blow up the procedure allowing him to do it.

Choice between the senate violating norms to go against leftist ideology or military rediness being degraded? Yeah they gonna say fuck the military. it isn't like they are gonna get involved in a war in the near future right? this is a peaceful time where no countries are at war and we aren't sending war material to multiple conflicts while our politicians are actively trying to poke at least one more into starting.

I mean, McConnell blocked Garland's nomination to the US Supreme Court for a full year in 2016.

Had Scalia died in let's say 2015, would McConnell blocked Garland then ?

The diffrence is this is not one person but a lot of them. Whole families and lives put on hold
