A competitive race in New Jersey was, uh...not expected.
Polling had the Democrat incumbent up by between 4 and 11 points through October depending on the poll you looked at...Though, even there, of some interest is that even that was down notably from consistent leads in the teens pre-September and one poll in May pegging him at +26.
Neck-and-neck in NJ is some serious 'WTF' energy.

This means nothing. The people running are at fault. They did stupid things. If they had been smarter it would have been fine for dems. They talked about Trump too much. No one cares about Trump anymore. Really it's a GOOD sign. Trump isn't worth talking about. We should stick to the issues and we will always win. Democrat issues are popular and right and Republican issues are hated and wrong. It's those racists in Virginia. I had no idea their would be so many. Well they will get theirs. Watch how bad things get with the Republicans. They will come crawling back. This doesn't mean anything.

Lets go through that point by point
1. While in and of itself virginia isn't a bellweather the fact that there are so many events like this suggests a 2022 bloodbath in the making.
2. This actually is true, while biden isn't helping if the dems had been more moderate and ruled better they probally would have won this.
3. Talking about Trump to much did hurt them, their paranoia about the guy is ultimently what made him the force he became.
4. Issue based campains some times win sometimes lose it depends on your credibility and what you deliver and the issues you stand on.
5. Um no, on a lot off issues the democrats have lost the plot. The party likes to do social experiements but is never quite willing to admit when an experiement goes horribly wrong and needs to be stopped this has created a bunch of issues where they make things a lot worse because of pride and ego.
6. Calling some one racist with out proof isn't going to make them vote for you its just going to end with people telling you to go fuck yourself.
7. Politics has ebb and flows the democrats probally will come back but most likely with very different people and maybe some different policies.
8. This really does mean something and its simple stop the control freak bullshit.
