Well looks like the Lincoln Project took credit for the stunt though it's far from confirmed. Especially since the idea seemed to be to sell it as legitimate White Nationalists showing up considering the initial reactions from Democrats and even those involved in said publicity stunt.
The disgraced anti-Trump group The Lincoln Project is facing intense backlash for orchestrating the viral hoax involving tiki torch-holding individuals associating themselves with the Youngkin campaign.

The only part of this that surprised me is that the Lincoln Project is still around.
I think pretty much anyone reading this knows I’m a conservative but also despite Donald Trump*. But I’m also really pissed off by things that only further split the party.
The Lincoln Project is a piece of shit and quite frankly if anyone is supporting them after this, just go join the Democrats because it’s quite clear they aren’t “conservative” by any reasonable standard in the A
Damn shame the VA Dems are on the verge of getting wiped out.
Big question is whether United States Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) & Mark Warner (D-VA) will suffer the same fate in 2024 & 2026 respectively ?
A.) Yes: Youngkin is likely gunning for one of those US Senate seats
B.) No: VA Dems will rebound
*I should note the VA Dems still control the VA State Senate (it'll be up in 2023).
Youngkin isn’t going to run for the Senate against Warner. He’s better off serving a full term as governor (since his term expires in 2026) and he would be in an excellent position to challenge Kaine if he so desires.
I’d note that
that also depends on what happens in 2024, and at this point we have no
It's unlikely the Dems hold the White House in 2024 (it would take a miracle / fortification beyond anything they pulled in 2020) and as such I expect the headwinds to be against the party holding the White House as it usually is in the '26 midterm.
That may not necessarily be the case, though. Sure, Biden is proving beyond all doubt that he’s still the idiot we all know and love to bash, but if Trump is the Republican in 2024 it’s far from a sure thing*. Not because of any efforts to sabotage the vote, but you’re drastically underestimating the number of people who despise Biden but also hate Trump even more.
Personally, I’d prefer Ron DeSantis since both wings of the party prefer him, but I don’t know if he will actually run given how his wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer. In any case I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.
Edit: *-Unless of course it’s actually Kamala Harris, in which case, Trump probably destroys her because he’s at least aware of what planet he’s on
and has competent subordinates.
