Rest In Peace ðŸ‡¬ðŸ‡§ Queen Elizabeth II Passing

Yeah. It feels weird honestly without the Queen. Speaking as an American, she was such an omnipresent figure on the British and world stage. It almost felt like she was an institution that had been there since time immemorial. I know everyone made jokes about her being immortal, but for her to suddenly die like this was quite shocking to me.

I mean she did recover from Covid despite her advanced age. Though I'm not surprised that her health took a turn for the worst after Prince Philipp passed away. Its pretty common for one person to lose heart and die not long after their spouse passes. They're filled with grief and it eats away at them.

I actually noticed a similar thing with my grandmother actually. After my grandfather passed, she was inconsolable and then like 8 months later her health took a turn for the worst and she followed him to the grave.

I mean I'm not really a monarchist. I more or less respect it as a legitimate institution worthy of existing alongside republics and other forms of government. The fact that its lasted so long and in various forms, demands respect in and of itself.

Though I'm far from a British expert though lol.

As far as I understand the monarchy, its more of a symbol of long-standing political and socio-cultural continuity with the Crown personifying British/English traditions going back over 1,000 years as a contiguous institution. In this regard its occupied the niche that the Japanese monarch had.

Though honestly I feel that some of the controversy directed towards Prince King Charles III is a bit unwarranted (I'm not talking about the stuff about Dianna). I get that the monarch is supposed to be apolitical, but people lost their crap when Charles said some arguably non-controversial things. Things like talking about how soul-less modern architecture is compared to old historical designs shouldn't be the things that get people upset.

And considering how feckless Parliament has been with how they're running the country into the ground, I honestly wish that the Monarch would actually exercise some of its power or influence to arrest such a decline. If you look at the modern UK a lot of its old cultural institutions are degrading. Anglican Theology for example has become a mess with the Church looking more likely that its going to die out in terms of membership and adherents. The recent progressive lurching of the church has caused a schism as well.
My theory is she likely died of a broken heart. I wasn't shocked about her dying 17 months after Prince Philip.

With people her age it's only a matter of time and a question of when.

When my great-grandmother died a few days before Thanksgiving '96 there was a twin engined private aircraft with the engines running waiting for me to go charging through one of the private terminals of Champain-Urbana's airport without flashing any ID at around 3AM in the morning without carrying any luggage.

I had to call a cab and barely made it.

You know who is posting on Truth Social all about how Queen Elizabeth liked him*.

Somehow, he's got more crass and despicable!
It's as if he's trying to offend an entire country.

(*As any Royal watcher will tell you, she didn't. And there were subtle indications.)

Saying that Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor liked you when you weren't on a nickname basis with her is you just being an ignorant dick.

Mike Tindall was terrified of meeting her at first; yeah, he needn't have worried as she basically took to him straight away, and she asked him to call her Lizzie, IIRC, because he was considered family already. :ROFLMAO:

The Orange Conman cannot help but grab any opportunity to publicly display himself. I'm not a body language expert, but I have dealt with enough Brits to spot a stiff upper lip from 30 yards. Reina Doña Windsor's smile was forced at his crass, brash demeanor. He had one job at their 2018 meeting. He threw that out the window and disrespected the Matriarch like a backwoods hick.

Yeah -- this is one grievance that Trump was actually guilty of, unlike most of the other shit that people throw at him to see what would stick. He acted like a twat with the Queen. smh

Let's not forget about the Honor Guard Inspection in 2018. Awkward

This, please this.

Biden needs to just come in, privately say what he needs to for the royals, and takes his seat.

If he decides to try to use the Queens funeral as a Midterm/War speech...just pray that doesn't happen.

Do not fear, even if he try say something, nobody would unarstandt what he wanted to say.
Back to topic - she was one of the last true Kings in the world.I would pray for her.

Would anyone be willing to brush me up on the Princess Diana Conspiracy? I've always heard it referenced but not fully explained.

Far as I remember, she was indipedent minded and there was a theory she was pregnant with child of a Pakistani/Indian guy she was intimate with and there was her diary where before she died she speculated Charles III wanted to assassinate her (don't remember the reason).

Gee, I wonder why the ex-husband who is part of a royal family wants to get rid of a potential embarassment.

I mean, those two were simply NOT made for each other. Charles didn't even get to the wedding before cheating on her. Besides that I highly doubt the Pakistani part, but Charles most certainly wanted her dead, but Queen Elizabeth? no, I can't see Elizabeth killing the best thing that could have happened for the RF. Diana was single handedly bringing the Royal Family into the limelight in the way she wanted.

Pretty much everyone thinks Elizabeth killed Diana due to a petty and rather small dispute, but the evidence points more towards Charles. I mean, he straight hated Diana, didn't even get to the vows before cheating on her.

Didn’t they both cheat on each other? At best they would just get along cordially with each other but have their own paramour on the side. That was a thing nobility and royalty did.

Diana was a bit less open about it, and really only started after Charles brought his current wife onto the scene (I've heard he point blank told Diana he was fucking her) and she just decided 'fuck it'.

I am asking myself, why both wanted to avoid a potential...scandal ? What would have happened if it was more obvious (which it was in my opinion)? What's the point in hiding it ?

It’s a respectability thing. They did not have a marriage where they loved each other but as long as both kept their affairs discreet so the public at large doesn’t know they are unfaithful then there won’t be any negative effects for nobles.
