    That reminds me, also check the magazine, if the follower spring is weakening it might not be putting enough pressure on the round to feed properly

    Might be spring wear-in as you think, as that seems to fit the symptoms best if you've eliminated limp-wristing. It could be a timing or headspace issue as well, if the bolt is trying to cycle to battery before completing extraction of the next round. If the spring wear-in doesn't solve it...

    Also because .22LR is a very forgiving cartridge to design for, especially when you are making a replica of an older style gun. Chamber pressures and such are much lower than for something like .223, for example, so you don't need to do nearly as much reengineering to make it work safely.

    It's the only replica STG-44 available, original articles are far too rare and expensive, not to mention requiring an FFL to purchase.

    Got the piece used at Bear Arms, the previous owner had replaced the iron rear sight with a ridiculously large scope so I replaced it with a red dot since it was on special for black Friday.

    POF makes some really good guns, IMO. I've now gotten to test fire a few of their ARs and they are pretty sweet. Pricey, but worth it IMO. They are local to me here in Phoenix. Personally, I recently picked up a GSG 1911 chambered for .22LR as a plinking and range gun (for the cheap ammo)...
