I originally just came here to read a fanfiction, but like many here, I became unhappy with the increasing liberalism on SB. I first noticed it when I recieved a warning for referring to Krem, a transgender character from the game Dragon Age by her correct gender instead of pretending that she was a male. With that and the PM incident, I knew that SB was going downhill. I still follow stories there and am still continuing to post one of mine, but I certainly don't go on whitehall anymore.

So i can be honest. I've been on SB since 2012. I doubt any of you know who I am on there since I barely talk politics there since i'd get nuked off the face of the Earth.
This is one of the major reasons I'm on here as well. Dealing with crazies makes me go in the opposite direction, and I had been dealing with far too many left wing crazies, which made me go increasingly right. Dealing with righties makes me argue the left wing on things, which is a good point to be on.
It's also nice to talk to a smaller, saner group as well, as the right does tend to be saner.

I actually concur. I find listening to multiple perspectives(within reason) is helpful and enlightening.
Probably, but while on the one hand that would suck to not be able to part of a community I've been involved in for nearly eight years; on the other hand it's the internet so who cares.

Political realinments suck, the republican party after Dubya burned all of the things collapsed and died and has been reborn as some thing saner, the democratic party is in its current state getting ready for its own collapse and destruction. No one knows how its going to shake out but things are not going to be the same.
Indeed. After Dubya, the Republican party was at its lowest point and remained that way for a few years. Then we got newer and younger members who were sane to join up and revitalize the party. I truly believe that if the Democratic party had done something similar, then this nation would be far healthier than it is today in terms of political discourse. But the Democratic party has been infiltrated by the intersectionalists and they're trying to take the party down a path of authoritarianism and division based on race, color, creed and whatever else they can. Its caused more than its fair share of problems. This, coupled with the fact that Republicans have finally found a spine for the first time in 50 years and thus we see the result. The question becomes, can we maintain our momentum after Trump has his second term in office? THAT is the question.
