United States George Floyd Protests, Reactions and Riots

There is a Cav unit 45 to an hour north. You are about right.
Yep a battalion of the regiment and the regimental HQ are in Forsyth and Macon respectively and and another battalion is based out of Cumming(or in other words maybe 20 minutes north of me) with the various component companies scattered around the area

Canton is closer the Macon last I checked, i could be wrong though.

It's happening.

20 bucks say massacre happens

As I have long said, the US can not endure like this forever.

Something somewhere has to give, the dam has to break.

I see a nation that is too divided, too polarized, and too weak willed to survive.

Oh we will survive, a blood bath will happen before that

I was listing the location of the Battalion HQs not where the companies are located.

Now where's a handy external enemy to unite the nation when you need one, oh hey there China

Welp looks like half a battalion's worth of the Georgia national guard got mobilized and a state of emergency declared. Why this wasn't done at least three hours ago beats me.
I wonder if any of my buddies there were sent out? I will ask them eventually

I heard they're magazineless.
Bayonets work just fine for controling most riots(and in many ways are probably better due to the primal fear of long pointy things we humans have)and don't result in people getting shot by a twitchy guardsmen who got woken up in the middle of the night. Besides they'll probably leave sufficient ammo with their vehicles behind the safey of the perimeter where they can get it if they need it.

I don't know if they'll be issued bayonets either.

The response is rather lacking. I think the mayor wussed out and hoping the rioting goes away.

Unfortunately, you can't eat patriotic duty. Don't like the agreement then dont take the job simple.
You can buy food with the salary you agreed to though.
So not murder then. Maybe this is why we should wait and see before declaring it murder. Maybe less demagoguery over “murder” might have resulted in less rioting and mayhem.
Lol no it really wouldn't have. Like 5 of these people actually care about dude. The balance are just opportunists waiting for any excuse.

We do not, mainly for the fact the M4 is not the best for a bayonet weapon.
We know how to beat someones head in with our ACHs and M4s though
Thanks for the info. I wonder when the M4 gets replaced sometime in the relatively near future(the army is looking at a 6.8mm round to replace the 5.56mm NATO if I recall correctly, which is ironic since that's almost the exact same round size as one of the proposed rounds for the M1 and something similar happened with what became the 7.62 NATO round) if this will change due to the new rifle probably being better suited to be used with a bayonet. Still I wouldn't put it past the Guard to keep some bayonets in the armory due to their usefulness in crowd control. Sure they might not be very practical to use but the average rioter won't know that

Actually no, we arnt going to have it on that either. Look at the proposed designs

Why do I get the feeling that in a few years time bayonets will be back in the vogue across the militaries of the world if only because they are useful in crowd control and/or improvements in body armor? Also I hope the designs are looking promising since you're the one whose going to be using the things. Now it's rather late for me so have a lovely night(or day depending on where you are)

You train with combativeds for a reason adn the like. If you ever get that close you just rely on what yu have, insteaad of attachign a bayonet to your weapon.
Here it would ot be ood, as if they charfge you and you are pointing a rifl at them just shoot them instead of stabbing
