China Wuhan Virus Pandemic

Oh great, inflation...just what we needed.
Edit: but yeah both Trump and his cabinet, and the Democrats in congress have called for something like that so, if both parties are agreeing, something like that is likely.
Not if the plan for implementation is good; which is unlikely, I'll give you. Still, I think Trump could actually pull it off without screwing it up, which is more than I can say for Biden or Sanders.

The problem is we will be adding money with no new goods, as more money chases the same amount of goods we get inflation, it doesn’t matter what plan is used. Before people ask yes a tax cut would do the same, however those increase the incentive to work providing more goods, here it is simply just giving money which won’t increase incentives to work.

The problem is that quite simply, there are going to be a lot of people missing paychecks and needing money NOW.

Inflation is a very secondary concern in this kind of situation; a tax cut will not put money in your pocket and food on your table NOW.

Exactly. What we are going to be looking at having to deal with here is a dramatic spike in unemployment, at least as bad as it got during the 2008 recession. Many people will not have any income, so taxing a smaller percentage of said non-existent income would do little to help matters. We need people spending money to keep our economy going.

Uh oh.

Wuhan Clan comin at ya!

Protect ya face!
Wuhan Clan ain't nuthin to fuck with!!! Wuhan Clan ain't nuthin to fuck with!!!.........:p

My point was right now they should do neither. I merely included the tax cut rationale because I figured people would bring up my support for that.

Oopsy-daisy, no more refugee resettlement for the time being! Whoever could've anticipated this?

And a look at Mexico. It WILL get worse down there:

Ok so lets get this over with.

The evolutionary basis of the order based side of conservatism is plagues and diseases. Its been studied and the more disease around an area the more conserivative the people in it are. People were already getting very very sick of the SJW bullshit before this happened now....

Well currently people are being told that they cant have cancer operations because they need beds for Corona, Biden is on record promising illegal aliens free medical care some thing american citazens do not recieve. Thats a bad fucking idea in normal times during a panic thats political sucide. In fact the whole left wing authoritarian bullshit thing that the sjws are doing worst time to do it their making themselves into very obvious and very hatable scapegoats. If anything Trumps chances of winning went up and the republicans are getting a lot of points. Trumps wall? Its going to get a lot more support and going against it will have negative conquences come november oh and when this all ends there will be the largest stock market rally in recent history.

As for china? They were the single most overleveraged country in human history in absolute and relative terms before this happened. They were already on america's shit list. Their current prosperity is entirely reliant on americans protecting the world oceans and protecting their slow moving large oil tankers.

The panic is in america and china has proven in its mind at the worst possible time that their not a responsible trade partner the medical industry is coming back to america those factories are being built now in an industrial retooling not seen since spudniqe in 6 months to a year all those medical exports to the us will be gone forever and once the election is over once the panics over you will have this on top of 30 years of built up grudges.

Their was already bi partazin support for dealing with china before this, after this china will have a really bad time.

As horrible as this whole thing is, it’s also the sort of generational event that causes a geopolitical earthquake and permanent changes in politics, business, and everything else.

While I’m willing to bet we see a shift in some manufacturing back stateside, consumers love cheap goods too much for it all to come back. I am willing to bet that Mexico is probably salivating at the possibilities, along with other parts of Central America, and hell, probably parts of Africa.

But remember, it's the ignorant Fox News watching Boomers that are at greater risk of exposing themselves to the virus and dying...

Eh, even posters on certain other message boards are recognizing the idiots aren’t the boomer generation. There was some dumbass woman who had it in my town and went grocery shopping before going into self quarantine with her kids (her excuse was that she’s a single mom and they were covered up...).

Called into a radio station to talk about it; sounded like a real rocket surgeon. Fortunately apparently she was at the other end of town but still.

Twitter is a cancer, and it's undoubtedly not going to be the first super-drama on the platform that comes as a result of quarantine and the nature of social media both lining up in some kind of apocalyptic play to make people be idiots...

That said, Trapt is a pretty decent band. Maybe it's just my generational nostalgia of them from High School, but they occupy a fun Nickelback-tier of knockoff Disturbed metal bands.

Mexico is going to make bank in the next 30 years.

Their labor is already cheaper and more skilled then Chinese labor and shipping costs are lower.
Labor probably isn't cheaper (though I've not looked into it and could well be wrong)--China has a big comparative advantage there just because of the massive labor market and the state's whole-hearted and excited willingness to hold the hands of its companies and supply them with loans, infrastructure, and peons to man their work-camps--and giggle at the idea of 'worker unions' or labor protections (except suicide netting--that's a worthwhile investment in keeping the peons producing Iphones!).

Agree in principle, though. There's a lot of production that could/should be done in other countries, perhaps especially South America, that only isn't because of the massive boom of China brought on the backs of its economic liberalization, the capital its allowed them to flex, and their domestic market. Mexico and South America would make a better source for things, investment included...Provided there can ever be any kind of political stability to things in the area (one instance the PRC has been very efficient at maintaining, to give the devil his due).
