China Wuhan Virus Pandemic

So, primaries are already getting postponed, and depending on how long this bug lasts, the general election could be effected.

This is moving in a very worrying direction.

the comments are pure gold

"no gatherings 250+ people"
Biden should still be able to have rallies.

The Democratic Party is a private entity, if they don’t get their popularity contest done in time for the public election then that’s their own fault.

- "We shouldn't gather to vote"
- Democrats propose a voting app
- Biden wins by a lead of 500 million votes

Well one things for sure. The dead democratic voters won't be affected.

Tulsi Gabbard wins by default, being the only survivor.

...This isn't true. The bill contains no provisions for abortion funding, Republicans have been trying to add an amendment that would ban abortion funding in some instances to the bill.

No but Pelosi did apparently lobby for abortion funding to be included in the bill and do so contrary to the Hyde Amendment.

I do like your attempt at a reversal in your stating that the Republicans are adding an amendment to ban abortion funding from some instances of the bill while also trying to imply there have been no efforts to include abortion funding into the bill from the Democrats.

I imagine it comes from a culture of disregard for authority. "The government/our parents/teachers/etc... say no, so...yes"

The General Election can't be put off or postponed.
No, but in-person voting could be dangerous and the campaign trail will look very different if rallies aren't able to be held.

It's not such an issue where I am, where mail-in voting is readily available.

But in some states that's not available and in-person voting is the norm, which leads to issues possibly spreading this bug, if it lasts that long.

Sorry for the double post, but watching today's breifing has given me a...glimmer of hope for this beastie.

They are really going all out agianst this virus.

I like how they compared the field quarantine and health/testing units to MASH units. It's a very apt comparison, and comparing the work to MASH is something that is likely to help calm the panic. Say what you will, but M*A*S*H is a cultural touchstone for the older generations, and a far more comforting image than many other references to field hospitals in fiction.

So we're just going to pretend that the whole "Thank God for China" and "Talking about Corona is a racist dogwhistle" periods in leftist media just... didn't happen, huh.

We have always been at war with Eurasia and always been friends with Eastasia, citizen. You are obviously misremembering what happened.

We have always taken the Corona Virus seriously, and we only ever called the people questioning the competence of our good friends in China racist shitlords. - The average leftist.

Their capacity for active historical revisionism has been rather fascinating to watch.

Heck; I grew up watching M*A*S*H reruns, and I'm technically a millennial.
