Any adult telling kids to keep secrets from their parents is probably up to some shady shit. Drilled that one into my kids at a young age.
honestly I think most american adults are deliberately trying to ignore just how fucking horrible things are, and thats why a lot of this stuff currently flies, where in a weird time of mass denile.
But Denile is just a phase and cold reality smacks you in the face sooner or later.
Most Boomers don't care what happens to the younger gens, only care about having a comfy retirement, and ensuring that their voices remain the most powerful in politics and society.
The Gen X'ers and younger are the ones who know what is up, and Gen X/Centennials are likely to have to act as a sacrifical shield socially, economically, and politically to try to unfuck things for the Millennials and Zoomers.
Because if we don't unfuck things, the younger gens are not really positioned to do it for themselves, due to the change in tech and society that the Boomers have ignored, or weaponized against the younger generations, while generally pulling the social and economic ladder up behind them.
History will not look kindly upon the boomers.
And I suspect us Milienials will fail in our task to right the ship of state I just hope and pray that future generations will be wiser then ourselves.
No, no history will not look kindly on them at all, and the 'Greatest Gen's' wartime accomplishemnts will be drowned out by the backlash against the false illusions of the world they sold to their Boomer kids, which has gone on to fuck over the younger gens significantly, and for selling out US economically to the CCP and India with off-shoring.
Doesn't matter if you or your parents beat the Nazi's, if they failed to stop the commies getting into your own house and sold the industry that won the war off to the CCP and foreign power.
Gen X and Centennials know the illusions sold by the Boomer and Greastest Gen are mostly moot or lies now, the 'American Dream' was an invention of the 50's post-war economy being expected to last forever has been shown to be utter foolishness, and the propaganda we were sold/indoc'd as kids with about our own nation is falling faster than the elite can patch it up.
The only problem is that the Boomers and older control the halls of power, and do not really like young blood trying to get into the game without their blessing or against their wishes.

Fact is that Nazism did the most damage after it was defeated, because Communists utilized it in psychological warfare against the West.
Here in Croatia, mainstream media and historians are acting as if antifascist means Communist and Communist means antifascist... whereas frankly, if I was forced to choose between Communism and Nazism, I wouldn't be able to decide. And from what I see, situation is same in the West as well.
No, Nazism's damage after their defeat was a direct consequence of how horrific they were toward so many groups, and the cultural/societal wound it has left in the West over not being able to stop them sooner.
Also, if the choice is between a Nazi and Commie, the answer should be shoot both.

I understand that. But physical scars can be healed; Nazism however directly damaged Western psyche, and Communism then came in to exploit the wounds.
And yes, that should be the sane answer. But as I said: Communists have basically hijacked the "antifascist" label, and used it to shield Communism from critique. Fact that Nazism was so obviously and openly horrific is basically blinding people to the far greater yet at the same time more subtle danger than Communism and its offshoots pose. In some countries (Croatia) just criticizing Communism can easily get you labeled a fascist by the mainstream.
