There is nothing anyone can do about it, because the stigma exists for good reason. Crazy people are dangerous to themselves and others, thus we instinctively avoid them.
That's incredibly short-sighted and I honestly thought better of you. That also means you should avoid
me, as I have OCD and anxiety due to physical health issues that have plagued me since I was 17.
Goodbye, don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out, because I don't want an arseprint on my door.
Like myself, I'm talking about the people struggling with issues such as clinical depression, OCD, anxiety, bipolarism, postnatal depression, eating disorders, schizophrenia, et cetera -- mental health comes under a
massive umbrella. Everyone has the right to seek out help for themselves to better their lives, be it through therapy or medication or another route.
And, yes, before anyone inevitably jumps
that hurdle, I include the genuine (read:
genuine) sufferers of gender dysphoria out there -- the 0.00001% of the total global population, if that, whose drugs, treatments, and therapies are being
abused by anyone and everyone calling themselves "transgender" (read: "trans-trender") these days, as well as the medical industry enabling these poor and deluded sods for the almighty dollar.
But people suffering from a mental health issue are essentially spat on for being "diseased", told to "suck it up" (which we do because of stigma), or "what narcotics are you on?" until something tragic happens that
could have and should have been avoided. Like any other health issue, there is help available, but we're pressured not to seek it because "oh, you're just feeling sad" and "ew, don't bother us, you freak!".
Not everyone suffering from a mental health issue is a predatory weirdo in a dress wanting to groom or fuck kids, and not everyone uses their mental health issue as an excuse to power trip or claim dominance over another person.
We're just people who could and should lead better, healthier lives if we get help in some form or another and stick to that help.
Fucking
shame on you. You're part of the problem.
