Could they not bring themselves to just fire the troublemakers?
The employees created an Instagram filled with grievances, started a COVID panic, accused them of every -ism, and basically did everything possible to poison the place. And, well, they need to find employees who are woke enough to want to work in a Lesbian bar in Portland, but not woke enough to destroy the place. That's a tall order, a very precise and narrow cross-section of wokeness and making a mistake in it spells doom.
Additionally, I did more digging on this. This isn't the first such incident in Portland, in fact it appears to be a constant for lesbian bars in Portland and indeed across the country.
The second the opening of the bar was announced, one Redditor predicted it.
For Fifteen Years (1995-2010) The Egyptian Room was the premier lesbian bar in Portland. Then they got woke and rebranded as The Egyptian Club which was open to transwomen as well. It was promptly flooded by soyboys who became women (no surgery of course) last week who totally counted as lesbians and demanded the existing lesbians sleep with them. Lesbians quit coming to the bar. Mysteriously, despite the fact that transmen
are women, the transmen were not attracted to each other and somehow were able to tell each other apart from ciswomen lesbians, and also quit coming to the bar. The Egyptian Club died almost immediately.
Why in Portland—one of the most LGBTQ-friendly cities in America, and home to the nation’s first bisexual governor and its first lesbian House speaker—is there no lesbian nightlife?

Stutzman adjusted her language, no longer calling Fantasy Softball League a lesbian event. Instead, she called it an event for queer women. But even with the change, Stutzman still worried.
"Everything I tried, someone was offended," she says. "It got weird and political, and I wanted it to be a fun thing."
That fall, Stutzman handed responsibility for the event to Alissa Young, who renamed the event Gal Pals, relocated it to the Florida Room on North Killingsworth Street, and ran into more trouble. Some people took offense at the event's new feminine name.
So Young folded the event. Now she mourns the loss: "Can't we have spaces that are just for lesbians?"
The woke mob has its own explanation. It's the darn gender pay gap! Womxyn only make 77 cents for each dollar men make so they don't have enough money to go to bars! We need justice!
This explanation falters a bit when you consider the Egyptian Room was successful for 15 years as a Lesbian Bar, no trans please, but died as soon as it became more woke and inclusive. But that's how it goes for Lesbian bars, let in the trans and they drive away the clientele, don't and a woke mob wrecks you.
The employees demanding the bar be given to them free, that's a new trend though.
