SCOTUS Getting Shade Over Roe v Wade

I'll ask the question again.

Why is it that there can be black supremists, hispanic supremists, and asian supremists, but white supremists are to be hunted down?

Rules for Thee, but Not for Me, I guess.

(You know, I wouldn't bother with any of this, if I didn't feel that imbalance. If all the supremists groups were treated the same, I'd ignore them all. But, they aren't.)

for social stability reasons you really should treat all supremacist groups equally badly.

Anything else and you basically hard fuck your society.

This is a nonsense hypothetical. You don't get to get away with murder simply because you made a physical copy of someone.
What about the teleportation thought experiment? (Where they "teleport" you by creating a perfect copy of you somewhere else and destroying the original in the exact same instant) Would that be murder, even though there is no time when both bodies have consciousness?

Yes 100%.

It's creating a copy and killing the original.

The original is still dead. Doesn't really matter if there's a perfectly fine copy.

I mean it would be the same thing if you just shot the original in the head to kill them. Disintegration just looks nicer.

the left has started to attack churches and places of worship.

Thought they would wait until Roe was gone before doing that but they started the process early. Lets face facts this is just the begining how long until you see a backlash to this kind of thing?

a reminder that the first gun control laws were to bring your guns to church incase you were attacked while at your place of worship

there should be no racial supremacists. all who advocate for it should be called out for their racism and dealt with if they preform any illegal actions harshly.

I'm not sure why this guy brought up white nationalism and the "Great Replacement" in the first place. No one was asking what white nationalists think about abortion bans.
He brought it up because its been running in the news since the shooting this weekend.

Basically leftwing media trying to equivalate reasonable concerns over illegal immigration or simply acknowledge that demographics matter when it comes to wide-scale voting patterns with the Great Replacement Conspiracy theory that a secret cabal of evil Jewish people are trying to replace white people with illegal immigrant minorities.

So basically standard practice for leftwing media, tar the entire right and their issues/concerns with the white supremacism brush.

Yeah I know it's been a buzzword left wing commentators have recently been using to try to smear conservatives and blame them for the Buffalo shooting. This thread isn't about any of that, though. WolfBear also made it sound like the "Great Replacement" is an actual thing you can be "for" or "against". It's not. The "Great Replacement" shouldn't even register as something for a conservative Christian to support or oppose because it's not a thing that is actually happening.

The idea this guy was driving* all the way from California for at least two days and probably more, and at no point during that trip did he go "whoa, wait, what the hell was I thinking, I can't do this, this is insane." is honestly the worst part. How nuts do you have to be to pull into a parking spot in Virginia after two or three days on the road and still be going "yes, murdering a SC justice is definitely the right call here."

*yes, you can technically fly with a gun, but it's not common and I'd assume would-be assassins probably wouldn't want to leave a paper trail of them flying into town with a gun that was used to shoot a SC justice.

A news article from our 'friends' the Washington Post on the subject:

Armed man arrested near Brett Kavanaugh’s home, officials say
The man allegedly told police he wanted to kill the Supreme Court justice, according to people familiar with the investigation

A man was detained by police early Wednesday morning near Brett M. Kavanaugh’s Maryland home after making threats against the Supreme Court justice, according to federal and local officials.

The man, described as being from California and in his mid-20s, was taken into custody by police after telling officers he wanted to kill the justice, according to people familiar with the investigation. He apparently did not make it onto Kavanaugh’s property in Montgomery County but was stopped on a nearby street and was found to be carrying at least one weapon and burglary tools, these people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

Two people familiar with the investigation said the initial evidence indicates that the man was angry about the leaked draft of an opinion by the Supreme Court signaling that the court is preparing to overturn Roe. v. Wade, the 49-year-old decision that guaranteed the constitutional right to have an abortion. He was also angry over a recent spate of mass shootings, these people said.

Police were apparently notified that the person might pose a threat to the justice, but it was not immediately clear who provided the initial tip, these people said.

The man was arrested at about 1:50 a.m. today, Supreme Court spokeswoman Patricia McCabe said in a statement confirming the arrest.

Montgomery County police responded to a call for service early Wednesday morning in the area of Kavanaugh’s Chevy Chase home, where officers took a man into custody and transported him to a local police station, said Shiera Goff, a spokeswoman for the department.

This man was in the area some time between 1:14 and 1:45 a.m. Wednesday and authorities believe this person “came in from out of state with the intent to kill Kavanaugh,” Goff said.

She declined to provide additional details on the man taken into custody.

The prospect of overturning Roe has amplified tensions at the court, where justices are circulating drafts of opinions and dissents. A final decision is expected this month or in early July.

There are signs of enhanced security around the justices. A tall fence now encircles the court building, which remains closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic. Law enforcement also has stepped up its presence outside many of their homes. Those who have traveled since the draft opinion was leaked are usually accompanied by bigger security details.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said in a statement that he was briefed on the incident and that it underscored why he pushed for extra security at the justices’ homes.

“I call on leaders in both parties in Washington to strongly condemn these actions in no uncertain terms,” Hogan said in the statement. “It is vital to our constitutional system that the justices be able to carry out their duties without fear of violence against them and their families.

Robert Barnes, Isaac Stanley-Becker, Razzan Nakhlawi, Erin Cox, Carol D. Leonnig and Ann E. Marimow contributed to this report.

Why, he would have been tried in DC, and the people there would acquit him, and give him a medal.

It would have turned Kav into a martyr if he succedded, or would have convinced the right wing justices that they have to crush the left for their own survival if he did survive.

And if he did get aquited that would be the fuck it point and some one would kill him in turn. Attempted murder of an SC is a very big deal.

This should be seen as big of a deal as January 6. For all the disorderly conduct on Jan 6, no one attempted to take the life of a government official.

Of course Democrats, the White House, and the liberal media are going to try to sweep this under the rug and act like it never happened. They probably won't even mention it when the final Dobbs ruling is issued (but they sure will bring up the false allegations against Kavanaugh).

The liberal media are losing more and more trust and more and more money. Their time of dominace is starting to end.
