From what I've seen, a lot of people get their ass kicked by that vaccine. I did. I felt like shit for about 24-48 hours after getting the shot. A friend of mine missed two days of work. Another friend got it and just felt like she was really sick. It certainly varies.

As for WHY they're all pushing this, it's not because the Wuhan is particularly deadly as is--but because it spreads so quickly that it can overwhelm local hospital capacity and it easily mutates. Countries like India and Brazil, who decided just to let everyone get it, produced more dangerous variations. The US could very well do the same, because we have a portion that is very resistant (even if they do get sick and pass it on) because they're vaccinated, but also a great deal of people who aren't.

All this tells me is that if China got serious, they could wipe us out with bioweapons. Because at least half of us would refuse to get the vaccine.

And I don't like needles either. But I like lockdowns and mask mandates even less. And worst of all is that the new Delta variant makes those masks basically useless. Because businesses aren't demanding customers wear them, just employees. That severally reduces the effectiveness of masks (which require that you stand 6 feet apart to begin with to be fully effective) to basically zero, while giving people the impression it's doing something.

Okay, you had me until the hospital gets overwhelmed.
Hospitals were not overwhelmed. The cities that said they were, never used the aid offered. They didn't even need the ventilators sent to them.
It was used to gain money and to scare. It was used to scare the people to give the US government power to do what ever.

I'm not against the vaccine. I'm just against forcing it down our throats.

I am also not beiliving it makes people any more resistant, as others have shown in here. It is usually the opposite
 
Loads of "overwhelmed" hospitals have people going to them to see absolutely empty parking lots and few beds taken. Just repeating what you saw on TV is not a argument.

Also, remember last year when all the scientists, all the media groups, all the politicians (including Donald Trump), all the government employees, said there was nothing going on in China and just regular flu spikes and this is xenophobia and racism come on hug a asian person visit the local Chinatown to celebrate Lunar New Year over the Wuhan Flu?

Correct, everyone but Trump was lying about covid until it became impossible to ignore then they flipped and blamed Trump for everything.

And don't forget that all the experts and politicians said lab leak was a baseless conspiracy therapy and suppressed it as hard as they could but now they admit it's most likely what happened.

The "experts" have destroyed any credibility they may have had over the last year. They consistently chose to support positions later proven wrong and to suppress positions later proven correct.

Blindly following experts is now a sign of a lack of critical thinking. The medical field isn't full of paragons that only have your best interests in mind and want to save people. They have just as many political hacks that will reach whatever conclusions they need for the cause as anywhere else.

Follow the science indeed. Suppressing anything you dislike isn't science. Quite the opposite.

I was just saying because he said was wrong.
I have no stake as I do not care for the pros or cons of the vaccine. I don't get shots unless Army mandates
 
The problem with the vacine is simply this.

All of the good will has been used up, millions of people lost their jobs, their busienss's were destroyed people are going to lose their homes the shut downs had very real costs to very real people. Its going to take years for a lot of people to come back some are ruined for life.

Its not the vacine its everything around the corona virus.

Everyone has their own circumstances as we all live in different places, but from my perspective? Despite all the screaming about Delta variant or whatever, things have gotten better since the vaccine is out now. As far as I'm concerned, there's really not much different in my life now and my life in February 2020 except that I have to wear the mask at work and other places.

The masks suck, and I do think that while they have their uses are by and large tiger rocks. But it's not that big a deal, and things are much more like normal compared to last year, when we practically could not go anywhere except getting food and I didn't have a job and didn't know which businesses near me were going to stay open.

So yeah, get the shot. We've gotten closer to normal since the shot came out, and we can get closer to normal the sooner COVID becomes less of a threat. And while stopping its spread entirely like the Left and the Aussies are trying to do is impossible, there are benefits to slwoing down.

Clowns to the left of me screaming about how the masks need to stay on forever as long as one life is at risk, jokers to the right screaming about how the vaccines are an evil government plot and that COVID is nothing for anyone to worry about. Stuck in the middle right here.

You know, I'm disappointed; I'd thought you were more perceptive than this. It has been demonstrated repeatedly that scares of hospitals being overwhelmed were just that, scares.

All viruses in the corona family easily mutate, and always have. There's no clear-cut evidence so far that the Delta or any other variant are more lethal, just more infectious, and the general Corona-family pattern has been 'more infectious, less lethal,' so most likely it's fitting to that very well.

And on top of all this, you are (for some reason) buying the idea that giving the radical leftists what they demand would somehow make them stop demanding more things, and inventing new excuses. As others have already posted, the way that their lies change just on this subject demonstrate this. The same is true of their lies about global warming, about systemic racism, about voter suppression, about literally everything.

The authoritarians saying 'just do this and we can go back to normal' cannot be trusted. They have never proven trustworthy, and there's plenty of evidence of that out there.

Perhaps the best proof of this is how all of New Zealand was locked down over one case of Coronavirus. The entire nation.

I honestly think we should just get the shot if you want, and if not don't worry about it.

It should be up to the people, not the gov
 


So much this; enough people have had it, survived, and gone on with life (as best the could under the idiocy of mask mandates and such) that natrual immunity will protect more people faster than any vax, and doesn't require continuously abridging our freedoms to accomplish.

If they get overwhelmed now it's from bad policies.
 
OK let's talk about Ivermectin for a moment now.

Apparently there is some hardcore campaign against it right now, it's being removed from farmacies, people are picking up Ivermectin meant for animals instead and this is being used to push more propaganda about "lol dumb conspiracy theorists taking cow medicine all gonna die"

Really creepy rewriting of history going on, links about how safe and average of a anti-viral and anti-parasite drug it was a few months ago have been completly buried. It is mentioned only as a anti-parasite first, with the anti-viral side being given almost as a after thought almost like it is a happy side effect instead of one of the key things it's meant to do. Wikipedia entry for it seems designed to especially avoid it and has a "deboonk" with links to The Guardian and Politico.

Insane shit.
