I mean, communist agriculture is p. much feudalism - Christianity, which ameliorated the worst of the system. It still sucked though, to the point that premodern cities' entire population growth came from people fleeing feudalism for various reasons even though the cities were cesspools of death and disease.

Having worked on a farm for a bit, I think that has more to do with the fact that farm work is hard as fuck.

In the premodern world, farming also meant a semi-reliable supply of food. People who headed into the cities to seek their fortunes in the medieval era were literally risking death by starvation, which is one of the most unpleasant ways to die. They weren't layabouts by any means.

Talking about the incident would necessitate that they acknowledge that a white person was not directly at fault for what happened; which would be inconvenient for their narrative for a multitude of reasons.
