China is not a peer power to the United States.
Economically? Yes, even though their influences are akin more to cancerous tendrils infiltrating the world than true business partnerships, but militarily? A big threat, yes, but they're a regional power with equipment and training that's second string.
They're decades behind still when it comes to what matters. Hell, they're only just producing their own carriers, which are still relatively obsolete in comparison to those fielded by modern day Russia, of all countries. Russia!
Hell, their J-25 fighter they're touting? Its engines were so shit they were begging the Russians for the same engines they use on their MiGs, and they were turned down flat (Russia knew they'd basically just steal the plans, basically). It'd be a top-class fighter design... thirty years ago.
They're still using, albeit modernized as best they can, copied Soviet derivatives for most of their hardware.
They're not a peer power.
