Election 2020 Election 2020: It's (almost) over! (maybe...possibly...ahh who are we kidding, it's 2020!)

They're prepping the ban wagon.

Its what Trump deserves for not destroying Big Tech during the 4 years he had.

Just to be clear, I'm not a Trump fan nor hater as I've said many times. I just hate the left and am sick at how any organized opposition to the left is made up of graceful losers or liberal/leftist lite claiming to be conservative but still doing in a way what the left want.

They are all controlled opposition. The liberal and leftist establishment and street leftists hate Trump hence he has my support for now.

What Trump needs to do, especially if he loses, is to throw his fame, wealth, and influence behind some of these alternative social media outlets. One big disadvantage those have is that social media with relatively few users isn’t really so useful. But if Trump openly backed some of those, they could get 10’s of millions of new users in no time. That is one way Trump could continue to lead the battle against the left without the presidency.

I agree with what you say, but destroying big tech would be really hard, especially for a president already assailed by enemies on every side. If presidents had such power, no doubt a future one could use it even more effectively to stifle dissent.

In the end that's how it goes I suspect. When the jig is up all the politicians swerve away when it's time for the reshuffling. Lyndon B. Johnson had it and so did Nixon.

Well, they now are openly banking on a Biden win, and that is a not a smart move.

Big Tech needs to be broken up and brought to heel, and soon.

Hopefully after Trump exposes all their BS, all the vote fraud, and gets a second term, Twitter/Google/FB will be forced to follow common carrier rules and treated as the near-utilities they have become.

Or we could straight up nationalize them, and cut out the middleman.

Once thing that I believe demoralized and angered some Trump supporters is that Big Tech started censoring and banning them and all Trump did according to them is say "He was monitoring the situation" but apparently did nothing.

People then brought this up against them in taunts.

If the corpos are not brought to heel, they will ban, censor and even take away money from all that opposes the left.

Look at Laura Towler for that. She lost access to her bank account for 3 weeks and couldn't access her money for all that time. Only after 3 weeks passed did they give her her money back but shut her account down and told her they would no longer do any business with her.

The thing is, Trump couldn't actually do much against Twitter without Congress acting. They are a private business, and basically free to discriminate as they see fit.

The only thing that Trump actually could have done that would have been both legal and effective is to simply leave Twitter for something like Gab and publicly refuse to allow the government to engage with Twitter and pressure republicans to join him on the stand.

Everything else is either a massive abuse of his position or ineffective.

And Google?

Yeah, I can’t argue with you, everything you’ve said is completely right. In fact, in the very near future it could become much much worse - basically what happened to Laura Towler on a larger scale. Like China’s social credit system, but enforced by semi-private monopolistic companies.

Big business is truly a great, if not the greatest, enemy to the American people and truly making strides would necessarily involve taking them down. I don’t think that Trump could do that even if he felt so inclined, which he wasn’t. Probably not even other Republicans, outside of a few radicals, would support him on any substantive attempt to limit the power of mega-corporations.

Trump talks a big game, but in practice he’s pretty docile. Maybe he has to be, I’m not sure. Once again, I don’t want to focus too much on judging Trump personally.

One thing that’s pissed me off is even with Trump as president, Antifa and BLM has had a free hand to riot, assault, and terrorize people but when ever anybody fights back, the full force of the law is thrown at them. That is certainly less important than big-tech censorship, but it angered me on a more visceral level that the government essential legalized left wing terrorism while outlawing fighting back.

I've lived in a very blue area, that sometimes seems purple, and in a hard-D family my whole life.

I know the Dems, I know how they operate, I know their rhetoric, I know their motivations, and I know how blind (willfully or not) many of them are to so many things.

I am an ex-Dem who donated a lot to Trump, I know what awaits me if Trump loses, and a red Senate/redder House and conservative SCOTUS won't be enough to stop it with the Covid lockdowns/mandates already overriding many Constitutional rights/barriers to tyranny.
Those are good analogies, but I'd also point to the 1st Marines on Guadalcanal or the Taffies at Samar.
That is also good. I just know the Battle of the Bulge the best

Daily Wire has also come around. Shapiro still calls Balls and strikes on him though, but he's softened his stance on Trump considerably.
Daily wire is great.

Shapiro, for all the hate he gets, is rational and level headed and will call out Trump, but also support a lot of Trump.

He's one of the more level headed guys out there doing this alternative media stuff.

Is it over?
If he keeps GA, yes it's over.

They'll likely recount. This is razor thin, like 1000 votes.

This is where non centralized, non mass fraud can make a difference. 1000 votes. All they need is a few individuals across the state acting in their own volition to tip the balance. GA has been sitting at 99% for days, and then somehow 3 days later squeak out jussssst enough votes for Biden. It's bullshit. Hopefully a recount will fix things, if they aren't destroying ballots.
