I'm curious what would you want to see the world look like in, say, 20 years? Let's assume that in this 20 year period the political forces that go against your vision will be soundly defeated and marginalized, and everything goes the way you'd like it to go in terms of culture, overton window, politics internal and foreign, geopolitics etc (within realistic constraints, i.e. the US won't conquer the entire world, aliens won't appear, an AI smart enough to rule over everything will not be developed, communism would not start magically working just as advertised, crime won't simply disappear without trace unless you can convincingly describe the policies that could create such a result etc), what would

1. Your country
2. The global order

would look like?

BONUS SCENARIO: Assuming that you can only steer either your country or the US (one or the other, your choice) toward your ideal future in 20 years with a guarantee of success, how should it deal with the rest of the unchanged world?

There would be ideal Earth till Jesus come back.If he do so ,then you would see ideal Earth

20 years is not nearly long enough for full life extension/rejuvenation treatments to be developed, but I can enjoy myself as absolute monarch in a country where meritocracy-based-poligamy laws are instituted.

It may be long enough for new treatments to be developed that might increase your chances of sticking around long enough until they do though. I mean, just recently, I've heard that they may be able to clone new organs to replace your old ones within the next twenty years; which by itself would be a game changer in terms of life extension. Basically, if even half of the technologies and treatments currently being worked on come to fruition within the next few decades, we're all looking at being able to measure our lives in centuries instead of decades.

Maybe, but considering how a lot of new tech has been just around the corner for decades, well, I am a bit skeptical.

Wow, this is such an open ended question that it's hard to answer. At some point I need to draw the line between hopes that are actually possible and those which are complete fantasy.

I'll completely leave out new discoveries or scientific/technological innovations. Obviously I want better medicine, better technology, and so on but that is nearly universal. I'll stick to social and political changes.

1. The USA
I'm an American so I mostly think in terms of the USA, so I will have more detailed information here. It goes without saying that I would like to see the Democrats lose elections, but that is ultimately superficial. The entire two party system is bad and facilitates corruption. I've been toying with the idea of monarchy or something similar, but I think for the moment that change may be too radical. Rather lets have the Democrat Party fracture under the weight of craziness and the Republicans undergo major reform to what would be a more traditional party. Maybe this could leave room for the Libertarians to rise as an alternative party. This isn't an ideal, but I'll trying to stay kind of realistic for the moment, otherwise I could make myself Queen.

I would like politics in the USA to move in a more nationalistic and traditional directional. We would have mostly closed borders, allowing in only a limited number of immigrants who get here because they have valuable skills that we need or where they face real persecution and are fleeing it, even in those cases they need to be able to fit into the USA. I don't want a radical Muslim coming to the USA even if his homeland is having a terrible civil war and he's a brilliant doctor. Expel the illegal immigrants and end birthright citizenship.

I want to have a total collapse of all of the woke Social Justice intersectionality nonsense. No more feminism, privilege, anti-white, anti-male, anti-Christian, anti-Western nonsense. I want culture to shift in such a way that if someone where to go around spouting woke propaganda, that people generally have the same reaction as they currently have when Neo-Nazis have a rally: it should be legal as all people have the right to freedom of speech (even woke commies) but it should be met with nearly universal disgust and condmenation.

I want to move towards a less centralized monetary system, with an audit of the Federal Reserve, maybe alternative currency or major reforms of monetary policy, and a general weakening of corporate power in the USA including Wallstreet's power. Almost all of these huge corporations, banks, holding companies, hedge funds, etc. use shenanigans to make billions and then support leftist globalist agendas with their ill gotten gains. Breaking the power of the super-rich elites.

I want to see the USA move towards non-interventionism. Cut military spending, close our overseas military bases, stop all foreign aid, stop interfering in the affairs of foreign nations, etc. Are there some limited cases where we do intervene? Yes, probably so, but it should far rarer and measured activity, we should especially avoid military activity.

Stop all of the Covid-19 hysteria and authoritarian policies. Thoroughly investigate if China is responsible for Covid-19 and if there was collusion with people in the USA. If such evidence is found, there will have to be some justice for that: more on that for the world in general.

We need to seriously weaken the deep state. The FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security, NSA, and a lot of other acronym organizations need to be either eliminated entirely or investigated and purged.

Socially we need a massive strengthening of family values. A reduction in promiscuity and premarital sex. Feminism and the social consequences of it will go away. The differences between men and women will be widely acknowledged and accommodated. Men and women will both seek marriage. Men will work and women will stay home as housewives. Men will be the dominant member of the relationship and women will submit to their husbands. Divorce will become very rare and will be regarded as something shameful. People will more often stay in the town they grew up in, so the family is more than just the nuclear family but the extended family with grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Not just extended families, but the community becomes a far bigger part of people's lives. We actually get to know our neighbors and interact with them. People interact with each other in person far more than online or watching movies, playing video games, or anything like that. Our hobbies will be more focused within the community and on personal human interaction, less on consuming mass media. Public school will be largely replaced with home schooling or private schooling. Large families will become normal and even a source of pride to families who can afford them.

People in the USA would start to care more about values more than money. People would rather live as a part of their community and a stay at home wife and home schooling mother than moving to a big city where both partners work so they can have prestigious jobs or consume more Chinese junk from Amazon. This may result in less income on average, but I see this as alright. Buying fewer toys or electronics, having a slightly smaller home, these are small prices to pay to maintain our values and our communities. This may well help the environment as we don't try to fill the holes left in our hearts with materialism and consumption.

There are numerous individual laws or policies that I would put into place, that may not be a part of the big picture. While I'm largely conservative, I do think that national health care seems to work better than what we now have and in this scenario we would have a highly effective nationalized health care system. I would legalize drugs, but because of generally increased family values and mental health, drug abuse would be far rarer but those few people who do become addicted can get help without fear of legal consequences. I think there should be some degree of financial safety nets, but they need to be radically altered so as to no create perverse incentives - like paying single mothers to have more kids or paying people not to work. Maybe a birth control requirement for welfare.

I'm sure there are more things I could say, I'm probably forgetting something important. but let me stop here for now.

I'll make another post to cover the world in general.

Honestly I think I'm at the point where at this point my Ideal of a realistic world is one where fighting is more socially acceptable. Outlawing conflict and violence has done nothing to actually stop either and has really only given the government the ability to monopolize and weaponize civil disobedience ala 1984.

IMOH "Punch a Nazi" if you like but remember to duck or guard when he exercises his right to punch you back.

opposing sides will never be friends with each other. Nor will we have the same common interest. One man's paradise is another man's punishment. Why should they pretend to be civil with each other and pretend until things get so tense, they break, and an even worse conflict erupts as a result vs what would have happened if you just let them fight from the word go. Our founding fathers once knew this it's why we have the right to bear arms.

Things would have been better in the long run had we let CHAZ rot or better yet let them duke it out with the biker gangs let them be an example of "This is what happens when you try to enforce your will on others. are your opinions really worth ceasing your existence for?" Apparently black on black gang violence is okay, but political conflict is only okay when the government is goading it.

I'd rather not live in a world where street violence is normal, but that's not going to happen. and better gang violence than a civil war. if the 70s and 80s were anything to go by a lot of the issues in the middle east would have already been resolved if various superpowers were not constantly trying to stir things up. The biggest atrocities have not been from petty warlords, but from the so called "Divine chosen" powers that be.

I've always heard the wolf and sheep analogy when comparing governments. What I've learned is that the issue is we've given power to the wolves because we are afraid of the foxes.

TL;DR let curtain burn away and reveal the world as the ugly burning flame that it is.

Below is an outline that I believe should be able to solve all pressing problems. You may not like it very much, because it demands some dramatic adjustments, but I frankly consider it to be the only alternative to much, much worse scenarios. Unfortunately, none of these changes that I suggest here will be implemented, which means that our future holds instability, mounting social tension, more culture wars, financial ruination, and ultimately civil war.

Seeing as that is the future I expect, this may be called my programme to prevent that future and craft something less terrible.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General

-- USA, Canada, Europe, Russia, Australia and New Zealand to cease all hostility amongst themselves, and to form a united trade zone and defence pact. All trade and travel restrictions within this bloc to be eliminated.

-- Other developed nations to be invited to join, provided that they are willing to meet (and subsequently do, in fact, meet) all the qualifications as outlined below (with no negotiation or compromises being permitted).

-- Outer borders of the bloc to be well-guarded.

-- All imports into the bloc from outside the bloc to be heavily taxed. All imports from outside nations that are deemed hostile to be outright banned. (China certainly to be deemed hostile.)

-- Export of precious metals and of rare and/or strategically valuable materials out of the bloc to be universally banned.

Economy

-- All nations of this bloc to adopt a 100% gold standard. Government use of fiduciary currency to be banned.

-- Government debt and deficit spending to be banned at all levels of organisation within the bloc.

-- Private debt to be strictly limited, and borrowing of money by private parties to be only permitted under strict limitations. Things like credit cards and buy-now-pay-later schemes, in any case, to be completely banned. (Consumers should only be able to buy what they can actually pay for. Debt is a disease, and we must cure it.)

-- All nations within the bloc to only have one single domestic tax, this being a property tax.

-- The property tax to be capped at a fixed percentage that it may never exceed, to ensure government never leeches too much off the population.

-- All domestic taxation other than the property tax to be banned under all circumstances.

-- The tax to be paid at the most local level. The local government to always give 50% of its tax revenue to the level above that, which gives 50% of that to the level above it, and so on and so forth. (This discourages states from adding superfluous levels of adminstration, because the more levels there are, the less of the money arrives at the top level.)

-- All subsidies to be abolished.

-- All government guarantees towards private institutions (such as the USA's federal deposit insurance) to be abolished.

-- All banks to be either savings banks or investment banks. The choice must be made, and doing one of those things forbids that bank from getting involved in the other.

Politics

-- Subsidiarity to become the fundamental principle of government. Over 90% of all tasks to be carried out at the most local level. The highest level to be exclusively concerned with defence and foreign affairs.

-- Government to be dramatically reduced in size. Primary tasks to include police, criminal justice, emergency services, and infrastructure. Most everything else to be left to the private sector, with no public funding and no government meddling of any kind.

-- "Politician", at all levels, to become a honorary position without pay of any kind.

-- Only those who pay the property tax (meaning land-owners) to be eligible to vote or to stand for election. In elections, the principle of "one man, one vote" to be abolished, and replaced by "one household, one vote". (And I don't care if it's the man or the woman or the pet parrot who casts the vote. Figure that out amongst yourselves.)

-- Only citizens to be allowed to own property within the bloc. This means that any company, in order to own property, must be 100% citizen-owned. Any foreign involvement at all voids this status immediately.

-- Almost everyone who has been involved in politics or government bureaucracy at the present time to be permanently banned from voting, holding public office, or being employed by the state henceforth. (Such people have been corrupted by the bloated old system, and thus cannot be relied upon ever again.)

-- Immigration into the bloc to be highly restricted. Only those who add value to be welcomed. (Poor fortune-seekers should seek to build up their own countries. And refugees should seek refuge in neighbouring countries, not half-way across the world.)

-- All immigrants to be subject to a moderate form of xenelasia, under whose precepts they cannot become citizens and thus cannot own property or vote. (And in case of criminal acts, they'll be expelled immediately.) Path to citizenship takes three generations. Children of immigrants become non-citizen residents. Children of non-citizen residents (i.e. grand-children of immigrants) become citizens.

-- Some 90% of all legal codes within the bloc to be shredded. (No sane culture needs nearly as many laws as we have now.)

-- All proposals for any new laws to require a two-thirds majority to pass.

-- All proposals for any new laws to be restricted to one single subject.

-- All laws to always have a sunset clause that voids them after ten years, unless they're renewed by another two-thirds majority vote.

-- All "victimless crimes" to be abolished. If an act doesn't have at least one specific, identifiable victim, then it shouldn't be a crime. It may be foolish, it may be boorish, it may even be a sin. But it's not for the government to regulate or punish.

-- Freedom of expression to be absolutely safe-guarded against all infringements; everything short of clear incitement to commit violence against real persons to be permitted under all circumstances.

-- The concept of "fines" to be abolished. (Any punishment that yields money to the government provides a perverse incentive to make innocent acts punishable, so as to generate revenue via fines. If something isn't worth sentencing someone to at least a day in prison, it's not worth criminalising at all.)

-- The concept of "intellectual property" to be abolished throughout the bloc. (Ideas cannot be owned; ownership is only applicable to physical reality.)

Culture

-- Dueling to become fully legal again.

-- The wanton destruction caused by sports hooligans to be solved by simply formalising their brawls. After the match, the hooligans will be allowed to storm the field to fight each other, with the field becoming a lawless zone where all acts of close combat are permitted without legal repercussions. A sort of modern mêlée. (And yes, we'll sell tickets to that, too.) The victors will be rewarded with gold and beer.

-- All monumental old buildings that were knocked down to make way for grotesque modern buildings to be re-built, brick by brick.

-- All ugly modern building to be dynamited, in any case. Modernist aesthetics to be banned from the public space, as a matter of psychological hygiene. (Modernist aesthetics, I'm convinced, contribute to mental illness.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The above is not meant to yield a perfect world. I do not believe in perfect worlds. The merry anarchism that I generally enjoy in my daily life will not be translated into a grand societal transformation. There will be no world where the interations between people are based on the voluntary consent of the participants, with no government of any kind even existing. Men are not angels, and we must not expect them to be angelic.

What I have proposed here, then, is far more realistic. It is meant to stave off disaster; to generate much-needed stability while also securing liberty and prosperity. But even this is ultimately a far-fetched fantasy. While all of the above could be done, I know that it won't be done.

We'll come to regret that, I believe.

or you know we could just get away from the computer and touch grass every once in a while. Peace itself is unnatural, heck it could be argued that our own idea of life and time is an illusion created by our perception of death (aging is a nice way of saying rotting.) heck creation itself was brought forth by a verbal command that shook the very fabric of reality and created the light. to have peace and stability you'd have to undo creation itself and the alternative to creation is an endless darkness and an earth that is formless and empty. I'll leave you to decide if that'd be a preferable alternative or not. Honestly, I go back and forth on it on the daily.

even in your scenario it still relies on the faith that either the rulers will be angels or people won't feel slighted enough to rock the boat. If either of these things were possible said scenario wouldn't be necessary in the first place. In truth we'd probably find the world would feel a whole lot better if we stopped listing to the news...I say that as I'm listening to a Razorfist video.

-- All ugly modern building to be dynamited, in any case. Modernist aesthetics to be banned from the public space, as a matter of psychological hygiene. (Modernist aesthetics, I'm convinced, contribute to mental illness.)

You know, I'd actually be okay with most of that myself (especially the parts about abolishing the concept of "intellectual property", and pruning the legal code). It'd at least be a better world than the one we have now.

No communism

Indeed. In Poland we were terrorized by germans and russians in 19th century - but even russians never genocided millions.
Entire 19th century - less then 100.000 murdered by them./not counting battles during uprisings - but that was war/

soviets - from 1939 till 1956 more then 500.000.And people under worst tsar in 19th century still was more free.

Ideas - both @ShieldWife and @Skallagrim should become Kings .With real power,of course.

An infection of Your universe.
(within realistic constraints, i.e. the US won't conquer the entire world, aliens won't appear, an AI smart enough to rule over everything will not be developed, communism would not start magically working just as advertised, crime won't simply disappear without trace unless you can convincingly describe the policies that could create such a result etc),
This premise sucks. I can't imagine any desirable state of existence within these constraints, let alone a future that fits my psychotic ideal politics.

So would I, with the amendum that Cheapist architecture is specifically replaced with the Earthship style.
