He clarified himself and said that the Democrats were overreacting and that it was all under control. At this point clearly they didn't.
To be fair, a lot of people were (and still are, sadly) insisting the Corona virus wasn't something to worry about, regardless of political affiliation. Trump, in my mind, has reacted about as well as one could have expected of anyone in his position.

Nobody else was able to do much better either. Whole world's about got it.

"The Scandal" oooh, you make it sound so dramatic.
The oversized PM that was acting as a miniature secret forum for the Right-leaning. I can call it an incident or event but the name doesn't really matter at this point only that it happened.

So, you know, several orders of magnitude more tolerant than most forums, including SB. Here you're rightfully mocked for being wrong, rather than, yknow, being hit by mods.

Also, I dont accept your premise. Your phrasing automatically presupposes that the hypothetical libtard in question is right, by asserting their grievances are legitimate.

I said possible. As in there is a possible chance they (whoever they are) have a legitimate grievance. I do not immediately condemn another user and I want to hear them out before passing judgement. That is what I was meaning to say.

Here or elsewhere, right. See, it's like you didn't even pay attention to what I said.
I am speaking as an outsider. I came here and honestly didn't see many identifiable Leftwing users on this site.

So we're just going to pretend that the whole "Thank God for China" and "Talking about Corona is a racist dogwhistle" periods in leftist media just... didn't happen, huh.
I am not sure where you are finding that. When it started what I saw on the news was worries of an outbreak, how china was messing up the early response, and when it spread people panicking in and out of china and many chinese and other asians were being treated as plaguebearers.

To me he didn't. He brushed it off when he should have been alert and ready to act instead of the haphazard taskforce just cobbled together.

In addition, the House is holding up negotiations on a COVID-19 response package due to Speaker Pelosi demanding that it include direct funding for abortions in contravention of the Hyde Amendment. How funding abortions is related to COVID-19 is well beyond me. This shows just how seriously officialdom is actually taking COVID-19. Ignore what they say, watch what they *do*.
...This isn't true. The bill contains no provisions for abortion funding, Republicans have been trying to add an amendment that would ban abortion funding in some instances to the bill.
There is maybe one or two useful parts of the bill. But ultimately, most of it is just welfare expansions. The previous, already signed bill, had most of the stuff needed, like paying for test kits, etc.
Given the economic effects of the epidemic (especially the restrictions on public gathering) these measures are going to be pretty important in the long run.
Both of those are posts from over four months ago.

I must admit, I didn’t expect much from my government or the EU, but they both fell so flat in this crisis that I am absolutely flabbergasted.
It seems like no one is steering the boat, for all the good they do...

Very disappointing.
Still counts

Question, any truth on the whole “young people” are more or less likely to recover from the virus better?
With permanent lung damage I reckon.

Considering the grammatical error I assumed there was a missing "every" there.

I'm not saying he's done a good job of it; but quite frankly, epidemics (let alone pandemics) are notorious in catching governments unprepared. And thus far, none of the world's leaders have proven themselves to be capable of handling this one. I'd argue there's not as much shame in being incompetent, when everyone else is too.

when everyone else is too.

I'm pretty sure there's a bigger shame of not being better than the rest

Then again the rest of my class failed Calculus, the professor never really taught how to do Calculus CREATIVELY and my family wouldn't stop giving me shit about how I failed it when everybody else kept failing every single test too even with help and hours and days of study(never taught how to do CREATIVELY though)

So maybe not a bigger shame
