Honestly the idea that a hundred thousand already have it is both shocking and kind of good news... because if that is remotely the case... the mortality and severity of symptoms would have to be vastly overstated in most respects.

I'm not logged on all the time. Especially to a forum I've just joined and am tentative on remaining in. I am and still hoping that The Sietch is friendlier than what others claimed it to be.

I read cuts and I felt concerned. The Trump Administration can claim that the money that might be saved is worth it. I don't. I feel that a department that provides vital roles like the CDC needs a treasury of funds for situations that are relevant but not originally earmarked for. And I do not mean random, frivolous studies like the Taxi Driver example; I'd prefer that the CDC leadership could make an informed and justified decision on what to use their money on.

As for the Ebola Article I am leaning towards conceding. I am a supporter of 'rainy day funds' and the consistent Ebola outbreaks in africa convinced me that something needed to be set aside to deal with it. I'd prefer money be spent to contain an epidemic at it's epicenter and far away from the US as possible.

TBF, what may seem frivolous may one day be helpful

Though, I think Taxi Drivers would lose to things like Uber eventually, a job that requires you don’t stop even to pee is something that could one day have an accident like say, a guy having kidney stones and peeing blood....yeah I really dislike all of those medical warnings. Back home we goy some horrific picture or statue to show people what happens to smokers’ bodies

That said, want in on this?

But the money needs to be balanced against use in other places, most crucially in paying down the National Debt, which keeps ballooning (Trump is no help here). Just having the money because it feels right/might be useful shouldn't be a reason to keep it. I would prefer stricter controls on where money is spent generally, including military and medicare. I would honestly start by privatizing the TSA. They can't stop bombs, they probably can't stop Corona, why is the US paying them?

Because the US had to be seen doing something..... FOR THE CHILDREN, it is simple security kabuki theater.

I may not agree with all of your points, but I do think you should stay, diversity of opinion makes a place worthwhile, that is why I left the other sites when they restricted it.

I read something in the Personal MBI about how both governments and corporation management have the problem in that people or employees feel like they have to “do something” because they may not know that they’re already doing stuff that are helpful or that them not intervening and letting a problem solve itself is helpful

Thing is, you have to always be seen doing something “new” in my opinion to maintain public trust of both employees and citizenry

Iran and Italy seem to be in the new for being the worst hit outside of China. Alot of Tehran's higher-ups getting infected while Italy has been totally locked down from the looks of it.

I work at the TSA and in a year i've found guns, ammo, and knives. Not every airport is lax. Mine try to make the extra effort to do drills, test, and extra-training on our time.

So they’ve finally made plastic 3D Printed guns that can get through detectors?

No seriously, if I were a terrorist or criminal, I’d think it’d be a good idea to somehow find ways around airport security and scanners

Plus, I think seperating the parts for weapons and hiding them amongst various things’ a good tactic, hiding it up private parts’ a smart but dumb and dangerous idea like that one lady who somehow hid drugs up her vagina

Huh. Do we have a list of the big-name officials who are sick? I know that Iran has been having some issues with the disease, but haven't been keeping up on who exactly.

I don't doubt you find these. But how many of those were people trying to sneak them by, and how many were accidents?

They have done tests of the TSA, and in 2015, they failed to keep out items in 67 out of 70 cases.
And they continue to fail:

The exceptions seem to be private security firms, like in San Francisco, which is why I support privitization. In addition, privatization would mean that you wouldn't be at risk from government shut downs forcing you to work without pay.

But on topic again, how long until we get enough tests that we can do mandatory testing at airports?

Plastic 3d guns have the issues that bullets are still made out of metal and you need some thing hard enough to handle a bullet and metal works with that too, if your looking for a weapon that would get through it you need to think plastic knife not gun.

Isn't that what they did with the bubonic plague? Dig lots of massive pits to dump all the dead bodies?

Lockdown is a coming.

It's going to be interesting to see how long they can keep these lockdowns up.

LA in particular can probably only keep it up for maybe a month or two before their heavily inflated prices start driving a significant portion of the population to homelessness.
