All this chaos going on in barely 2 months, I'm actually worried about what this outbreak will look like by the end of the year.

Well to be Frank Western Europe is fucked. They had a ton of infected people come in right under the radar. So containment was borked on day one. Africa strangely enough might weather this quite well due to it having less urban centers. The US will do ok. But California is fucked because of their current ongoing issues. South America is a question mark. And Oceania is to spread out to be hit bad.

Maybe a bioweapon, maybe a SARS vaccine base, maybe neither. But that is what I believe, and what will continue to believe unless there is some real hard evidence of the contrary.

And I'm not saying you are wrong. There are certainly quite a lot of coincidences that raise eyebrows. You may very well be right on the money. But until I get confirmation I'll hold off on saying its 100% certainty.

This is something that has an impossible to stop spread like the common cold, combined with a death rate that can go from bad with good medical infrastructure to horrifying without. This will effect crowded areas with poor sanitation the hardest: developing, newly industrialized third world countries which are currently being used as a source of cheap labor by the global economy.

The global economic effect will be a massive, global, increase in the price of labor with manufacturing hit the hardest. We've seen this type of thing to the labor market several times in the past and each time it has created a major increase in automation in the industrial sector, with the industrial revolution itself being partially produced by the black death.

In short, if you are part of the global 1% like most Americans, the most proactive response you can have to the Wuhan virus is to invest in automation technologies.

Part of that, is that the Flu is a known quantity that people are accustomed to. Until we've seen the full cycle of this, we won't know how much is hype, and how much is actual legit threat.

If someone had asked, I probably would have guessed that a handful of people die each year simply due to law of large numbers, certainly not enough for three digits worth. Turns out it's quite a bit more than that.

I was sick last week with and Ear infection and damn near everybody asked it I had Coronovirus............. Yeah that happened.

I have 3 months worth of food and I am stocking up on Toilet paper. Paper towels and other toiletries. Next I will buy Ant Poison and distilled water for my CPAP. I have a private well so I don't have to depend on the Town water supply.

ROK will be fine, the virus has caused the whole country to go on lockdown, as in the military has stopped sending flights it is that bad. We arnt allowed to leave the peninsula or even the base (well you can..just avoid populated areas). They are having the G2 of the division (2ID) watching the Coronavirus... that is how paranoid we have gotten over here.

Though most on base give Zero fucks and only 2 US soldiers here have been infected last we checked.

So ROK will be fine. They are one of the kost advanced countries in the world for a reason.

If this is manmade, let's hope DPRK doesnt get the idea to try and get a training and attempt to use it against ROK in the future.
Or that China ends up saying it was always thier plan and they then cause world war 3.

Fun fact: Masks, not even full gas masks will help against it. Because skin contact also gets you. Full hazmat or Jsuit will prevent it.
