The article is from a Finnish movie - and tv-series magazine and I will translate you the relevant bit to the thread.
Translation:
But a sequel can not possibly catch the magic of the first one. First one by itself was a solid well told contained story about mankind's rebirth from a dying species stuck on a dying planet to a trailblazer of interstellar exploration. But I also want to take the risk to just get more Interstellar. Man the audiovisual awe will alone make this a must-watch at cinema.

Nyt kuitenkin huhuillaan Warnerin uudesta projektista. Christopher Nolanin Interstellarin jatko-osa on ilmeisesti suunnitteilla. Tai tuotanto on jo niin pitkällä, että käsikirjoitusta rustaillaan.
Interstellar on Warnerin tuottoisin itsenäinen elokuva, joten jatko-osa on perusteltu jo pelkästään rahalla.
Tarina jatkuu ilmeisesti suoraan siitä, mihin ensimmäinen elokuva jäi.

I feel conflicted. On one hand I loved Interstellar. Loved the sense of discovery in it and going where no man had gone before shadowed by the desperate battle against time to find a suitable home for mankind before it's too late. Also loved the theme of what Cooper's personal sacrifice of life with his family for mankind which also saved his family. Now rumours are circling Warner's new project. Christopher Nolan's Interstellar apparently has a sequel being planend. Or the production is so far advanced that the script is being written.
Interstellar is the most productive independent movie by Warner so a sequel can be argued for simply by monetary interests alone.
The story apparently continues straight from where the first film ended.
