I say sell weapons to the Indians and let them duke it out. If Trump gets re-elected, maybe come in when China has exhausted itself trying to dominate the juggernaut to the south.
I, for one, prefer the grand historical and situational irony of the US and UK--and whoever else wants to come along like maybe the Phillipines, Japan, Vietnam, etc.--declaring a blockade quarantine around the communist bandits and intercepting any and all shipping in transit.
Because a blockade would be an act of war, and obviously we wouldn't want that. But a quarantine? Well, Cuban Missile Crisis established that a quarantine is Different. And what with all that Covid-19 going around...

If a war starts, ASEAN would likely join as a group. As someone once said "the only thing all ASEAN countries have in common is fear of China". ASEAN has military powers that combined have a pretty serious military (Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam [hegemon of Cambodia and Laos]). That's leaving aside the other ASEAN countries and the other East Asian countries that are chomping at the bit to take it out on China (Taiwan, Korea and Japan).

Even if the US didn't get involved, the only way China would stand a chance is to launch nukes towards basically everyone around them, which would also doom them as well.

What about stuff involving the economy? Subtle "threats" involving the economy

Just so you know, I've been getting feels of a sort from my dad that he doesn't seem to believe the propaganda regarding China's greatness as much anymore and he had some business with China and even took me seriously on that line from Anchorman 2 about China becoming a first world country and explained to me how they'd do it....yeah I remember that moment even if it was years ago....in hindsight what he said didn't mention things like China's pollution, geography, resources and mostly male population and one child policy

I had a similar person in my life when I was young, he used to say that in X number of years we'd all be speaking Mandarin. Really believed that China's path to being the prime super-power was merely an inevitability, and a welcome one.

The economic threats don't really work in this case. The US has been backing out of China for years, the US is also their main trade partner. Between the trade war and Covid, a lot of changes have been pushed to move business out of China and into either another Asian country or closer to home. Xi has also not been helping matters as he has been consolidating power from the guys that made it rich recently, so a lot of them have been fleeing to other places over the past few years as well.

China does spend a lot on bribing government officials in SE Asian countries, but the leadership are generally either controled by another power or their own men, and the public generally hates the Chinese either due to historical sentiment or because of Chinese tourists and businesses. War with China would be incredibly popular and the only ones that would really lose out innitially would be the dead and the beaurocrats that lose their bribes.

because of Chinese tourists

I think I've seen even Western Media covering that, and sort of trying to "excuse" it by talking about cultural differences

Honestly, when I spent a few months in China, they went on and on about the value of "Saving Face" so much I was shocked by such openly rude and arrogant behavior coming from tourists, like that one rich dude and his family who tried openly bribing a hotel concierge only to get rejected and explode right then and there

I heard from someone else, this is also "Saving Face" because if you don't explode, "People will walk all over you" there

It only took a few moments for me to come to doubt what I learned before

My dad actually took me on the advice of checking the products coming from China for defects, otherwise the tests we'd have on our employees and selves and others for charity would be horribly defective and get people killed. Hell, he may think Trump is crazy still, but he actually agreed on the whole Trumpbux and Hydroxichloride thing, bought the latter to use it on employees and friends
