Unless there's a Dark Horse Democrat, there's no-one viable to oppose his re-election.
It's been at 50% for the last few months, though admittedly in the last week it's slipped a few percentages.
He's also rated very highly in the African-American and Latino communities, traditionally Democrat support bases, IIRC.

Obama, in my own opinion, was a charismatic man. But, he was a shitty President.
He was seen as being a soft-touch by the international community to the point where I'd be unsurprised if they laughed at him behind his back.
Something at least plausible, for a start? The Green Deal was so unrealistic that it belonged in a fiction novel. A bad one. And, given how good the American economy is at the moment, they're working.

Let's be honest here; nobody actually knows what's going to happen in 2020. You're just all making predictions based on your own personal biases; just like everyone did in the 2016 election, when every poll and political pundit said that Hillary would win in a landslide. How hard is it to accept that you can't predict the future? The only thing that matters, the only thing you can control, is who you give your vote to. I want Trump to win; but that doesn't mean he will, no matter how disgusted with the Dems I've become.
Besides; it's just the presidency. The underlying conflict that has been raging for years by this point is not going to go away, no matter who gets elected. People will still hate each other over simple differences in opinion, or culture, or ideology, and the violence will continue to escalate; there is no stopping it now, because everyone believes they're in the right, and they all want to win. One would think we'd have learned better by now, but nobody pays attention to history I guess.

To say that Shapiro is a moderate conservative either makes Sanders a moderate democrat (lol, no) or means the Republican party is so far off the curtain that actual fascists popping up (Steve King) isn't so surprisng.
