It's an uncomfortable truth to know it's all for the money which I'm pretty sure is a very old method to extending control through mercantile enterprises that everyone with money does.

When I say uncomfortable truth I stand by it. It's not as brutal as the past but it's there. The encroaching influence to change things slowly the mercantile way that other countries when they're a super power would do. This is simply a natural reaction when a foreign country demonstrates their influence.

Doesn't matter who be it the US, Russia, China, Britain, France, Germany etc.

I see it a lot of ways.

I know why China did it which is quite natural for China to do.

I also know why people are against what they're doing because it is natural for them to be against it too.

Goes under foreign influence and it's rejection by local people.

There’s also the fact that I don’t think you can just dump your entire consumer base for another so easily

Plus, it’s not the common citizens in China, but the government with the big desire for censorship....I think. Like how obedient down to their hearts are the chinese people to their government even when it comes to what they actually like?

I wouldn't know as I never lived in the mainland but with the circumstances of China as a result of the CCP winning it's what it is.

Funny thing I know that would happen is that if it were the reverse where a Chinese company was obeying the directives of a foreign country the outcry would be the same.

That isn't going to be a thing. You'll be ignored because, unsurprisingly, people love civilization because it is the only reason they have food, clothing, entertainment, etc. and anything to jeopardize that would be problematic at best.

Given memetics (and not simply 'weaponized propaganda', we're talking 'things that make you have no free will' here, although it isn't at that point yet) is becoming a thing and biotech is heading towards 'do it in the basement' level, the only way forward is -sadly- essentially eliminating privacy and restricting speech and information to combat such threats.

Considering how they treat the Uyghurs, or the fact that for any religion to operate in China they must by law place obedience to the CCP above anything else in their doctrine, I'm thinking their stance is a solid "we will kill you and harvest your organs to sell on the black market if you try".

It doesn't have to end anything. For example I fully acknowledge that the way we treated the Indians was fucked up. It doesn't make me love America any less and it doesn't change that I think this is the greatest nation to ever exist.

Yeah, though the problem is that people are driven into extremes, almost seeing things in black and white because it’s so much simpler

Part of that's our fault; the US government at the time felt that holding Japan to account for their actions would have impeded our efforts to reform and rebuild the country after the war. In some cases, we even helped the Japanese cover up atrocities and protect those who committed them.

Although I also feel it's important to acknowledge that only a minority of people in Japan today deny that atrocities were committed by their country during the war; it's just that many of them are ignorant of the full extent.

I wish you and future generations good luck to continue the rights you enjoy thanks to your founding fathers. They have made a rather interesting nation. I don't understand the constitution but it's clear to me it was set up for good reason at that time.
