What Made You A Conservative?

Basically, try reading history books that were written:
a) before 1960s
b) before 1945
c) before 1918

Point c) is ideal, other two if not possible. As for the rest, that depends on topic: newer books are often better on the technical side of things, but are just as often filtered through Marxist lens.
Fortunately military history books don't tend to be written through such a lens and they tend to provide the needed background on what they're talking about. Usually in such a way that actually makes far more sense than most other history books.

But what I think fully opened my eyes was GG, it was the final push I needed to commit. The clear and evident wrongdoing, and the media just blatantly lied about it. I was already about there, but this crystallized everything and entrenched me on the right. If people were willing to lie and be crazy about video game journalism, what else would they lie about?

I think what redpills people in-relation to Gamergate and all there other #Gates for Entertainment Media, is finding out how surprisingly diverse its members or advocates are by the end of the day to the point the whole "Just as bad" excuse doesn't fit

Indeed. People who want the right thing and try to do the right thing are not just as bad. False equivalence.

Yeah, I think too many "centrists" have the problem of believing in the whole ultra-right-wing-bigot-army thing and can easily ignore when it turns out that said "Right Wing Nuts" are being surprisingly welcoming of people of multiple ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, sexes and even had buddhist priests of all people joining in on Trump rallies

Then again the Dhalai Lhama last I checked, openly calls the European Union hopelessly naive and willing to let its naivety destroy its own people

Because it doesn't fit their conception of reality. They have been programmed to believe something, and thus their brain tends to break when presented with contradictory data.

Most they can perceive reality is stuff like The Boys, South Park and My Cartoon President or even r/PoliticalCompassMemes(even that’s more respectul of TradCons and LibRight than the first two) that “shits on both sides equally” whilst portraying the practically non-existent “Far Right” as majority

As if Spencer and his shortbus brigade are representative of anything. Or any of those other spazes marching down the streets in tikki torches and god awful haircuts.

It's cultural. I value history and tradition. Everything in the past made us who we are and we owe respect and even veneration to those individuals and cultures.
The farce of this is that nationalists like you have systemically wiped out the history and traditions of many of us so we have to build a new future to replace the history you stole from people by teaching a slanted version of history like they do here in WV when we spend the better part of a decade learning about the American Civil War and maybe a week on the decades in which Appalachians engaged in guerilla wars against corporations which sought to own us as debt slaves, when you burn our histories as the Nazis did the history of queer people, when you stole people from their home and systemically denied them any connection to that history and tradition as was done with African slaves, when you wiped any trace of the cultures that you displaced as was done in for example Armenia and the Americas.

The joke here is that lots of far right nationalists talk about how "(((They))) Took This From Us", but the truth is it's projection. We don't reject culture, the value of history (this is hilarious as most Leftist theory is based on Historical Materialism rather than Historical Idealism), the value of traditions. We simply have been denied the right to have those systemically. We simply recognize that we don't have the opportunity to appeal to our history and tradition because you destroyed it.

No, I won't. Too bad for you.
Everyone dies, history is an inexorable advance to the grave, and your worldview being based entirely upon the begrudgement of the people you exploit for daring to talk back you don't really have a choice in that.

This part I just laugh at. False, you reject and the only history your side cares about is one's that let you guilt trip.
History is what it is. It isn't something you should manipulate to try to score points.

And unless you were personally present, guilt doesn't make any sense.

A lot of times, people have tied their identities to power structures or nations and get upset when the history of those things isn't what they want them to be. But the facts don't care about our feelings.

You are not clever and posting smug pictures means nothing. You want me to die mad now and I won't. Dying years from now means nothing cause it has nothing to do with you. And classic leftist bullshit about always being the rebel, I won't fall for it.

A load of bullshit cause the left have shown that they don't care about facts and all they care about is feelings and guilting people only to then do those same acts themselves and trying to manipulate history is also what they do.

So nothing you say here is of relevance.

And before you try and be clever and say something about nations manipulating history, I'm well aware of it. I'm focusing on the Left cause they are the power now and they have spent decades upon decades deconstructing and critiquing everyone they don't like which is very selective despite their crying about universality, now its the Lefts turn to go under that.

Don't worry, I've never been clever.

Okay, you say I am lying. So what? You can keep yelling other people don't believe what they say and there is nothing I can do to stop you. But you don't seem to have any reason to think so.

You are angry over deconstruction, but deconstruction, at least in history, is about looking for the actual truth, not the stories we've built on top of it. Looking at history as it actually was means taking account of the fact that the history that we receive doesn't always match up with reality. Even when it isn't a lie, that doesn't necessarily mean it is the whole truth.

The fact that Jefferson was having sex with a person he literally owned can and should make us question his larger role, because that part is just as real, maybe more real, than all the high minded sentiments he made. The fact that literal blood was shed in the attempts of workers to resist corporate violence is a vital part of our history, especially where I live, that most people are never taught, because it doesn't fit a convenient narrative.

You can't ever get entirely out from behind your own preconceptions, but we can try, and I think that is what really valuing history, not myth or heritage, but history, actually requires.

I said the left not you personally. And lol, the left are as much about narrative and putting up a front as anything else. So stop pretending your side cares about the truth.

Nothing you have said addresses anything I said. So more bullshit.

The problem with deconstruction is that it is bad for the mental and emotional health of the people, and the future of the nation.

Healthy nations have myths and don’t engage in flagellating hatred of themselves and their ancestors.
