What is Reactionarism - Short Reactionary FAQ

Not to the people who are starving and getting crushed by the regime they are under. Survival is a heck of a motivator for change. At that point you've hit rock bottom. If the next regimen is just as evil if not more so you've lost nothing, "but think about your neighbor..." To heck with my neighbor I'm starving.

It's easy to criticize revolutions A. With Centuries of hindsight and B. The comfort of a climate controlled house. We weren't the ones starving living in filth covered slums. We are getting to that point though especially if California is anything to go by.
You are missing the point.

Yes, revolutions can be justified. Some weren't, some were, some simply snowballed. I am not denying that. My point is, regardless of all the best intentions, revolutions rarely achieve their goal of improving things, and in fact rarely manage to even achieve a positive outcome, let alone actual improvement compared to how things were before.

So it is less that "revolutions are bad" and more that "social engineering is bad". There were plenty of revolutions that didn't end up in mass murder and genocide - because their aim was to restore the old rights and status quo.

And my point is do you really think the people who are suffering in the moment care about the long term outcome?

No they are thinking"I'm going to improve my standing or take down as many with me as possible."

Your trying to appeal to "think about your neighbor. Think about the consequences" While their mentality is "to heck with my neighbor and darn the consequences I'm starving man that's hellbound anyway. Worst case scenario everyone else goes down with me to which I am no worse off."

Revolutions are done by people with nothing left worthwhile to lose.

How about think about themselves? Because usually, people who raise the revolution end up being the first on the chopping block after it has succeeded. And they fail to fulfill their goals anyway - all good things had been built gradually.

But of course, people are dumb, panicky animals, hence why revolutions happen - and everything connected to them.

And keeping things to the status quo is sure to doom them. It's darned if they do darned if they don't. Might as well go down in a blaze. I think you will find revolutionaries have more in common with school shooters than anyone else.

At the point they are where they are they have nothing left to lose. You may not like it but more often than not it's the truth.

Debatable. People who participate in revolutions often feel like they have nothing left to lose (and even that is not a hard rule), but you will find that the people who start revolutions tend to be just self-serving and power-hungry.

French revolution? Started because of a spat between the King and the Estates.
Paris Commune? Completely unnecessary waste of life which sprung up when socialists smelled French government's weakness following defeat in the Franco-Prussian war.
October revolution? Started by a German agent to knock Russia out of the war. Again completely unnecessary from the point of "helping the people" because all the reforms they had been asking for were already being implemented by the Tsarist government.
Literally all 1918. - 1920. revolutions? Started by Soviet agitators or due to post-war instability as Leftists aimed to establish their tyranny all across the continent.

and yet these people would be nothing without the help of the masses. What gets them to jump on board. It's NOT that "they are a bunch of stupid sheep who don't realize how good they have it." there is a weakness either in the system or the society if not both.
The stuff the US has going on right now, it's not because millianals are stupid, it's because the system has encouraged fatherless homes, a weak economy and an utter lack of self-determination and where there is a vacume somthing will come to fill it whether it's a surge of self-determination or a longing for a big daddy governemt.

True. But who encourages that? It is essentially Left creating the problem, and then offering the solution. That is why the Left is always winning.

Again, if you look at the October Revolution - Tsarist government was reforming, and in fact the Left was pushing for the revolution because they saw the window of opportunity closing. Had Tsarist government survived the war and finished the reforms (as unwilling as Tsar may have been to implement them, they were being passed), the socialist revolution would have never happened. And while Tsarist government had many problems, the main problem which eventually encouraged the revolution was its essentially socialist economic policy.

Fatherless homes, weak economy and lack of self-determination? All of that has happened because of the leftist economic policies... and people want to solve it with more leftism. Why? Is it that people are idiots? Or are being brainwashed by the media and educational system?

And while Tsarist government had many problems, the main problem which eventually encouraged the revolution was its essentially socialist economic policy.

And Louis's and George's problem was the court/military overspending followed by overtaxing to make up the difference just like King John before them.

Look peasant revolutions are like vampires. they are devastating but the only way they can come in is if the head of household fails to protects his house and invites the vampire in.

First Rule of leadership: if you take credit for all the good you have to be willing to share the blame for all the bad.

I’m definitely more on the regressive side of the spectrum. Not in an absolute way, but I believe that society should be organized in a way that accords to human nature and traditions are far more likely to be fine tuned to human nature through generations of trial and error, at least within a certain context. Where as progressive ideals can run so contrary to human nature that any attempt to adhere to them is certain to cause ruin and suffering. That certainly describes modern leftism, not just the crazy SJW’s but really the kind of Enlightenment Era egalitarianism that has dominated the West for over a century.

As has been said, conservatives aren’t that helpful, they just fight to protect the last generation‘s progressivism, even using the same sort of histrionic language that the left uses to demonize those to their right. There are some self professed conservatives now who remember their youth in the 1990’s as the good old days, completely unaware that even if things were slightly better then, that the foundations for today’s destructive leftism had already been established for decades at that point even if they hadn’t come to full fruition.

The only thing that the Left has come to a conclusion would be that Conservatives can be useless, but only because they're the ones who don't like to rock the boat, but that mentality is the reason why the Left is able to cause more insanity.
