What If? What if an angelic Figure suddenly appears in Washington DC in the year 2001,January 1.

The figure in question says this
“From this moment onward the world will end in a year not yet to be told. End by the hand of not just God but all the other gods. For the world after death is esoteric, contradictory, and mind numbing to a mortal soul. It is the land where every religion is true yet none of them are.A place where the Greco-Roman pantheon clashes with the Hindu Gods. Where the Aesir fight against Quetzalcoatl. Where God The Father smites the world serpent”. Then he swings his flaming sword and destroys a mountain to show his might.
How does the world react to this news?
Would the military try to attack the figure?

Ragnarok is what happens

To appeal for mankind’s sake

History’s greatest and most terrible will face off against the Gods themselves

If humanity loses to the Gods, the latter can extinct us all, do another big bang and go off and evolve some other species to sapience. If humanity wins. We live.

The human race will get to watch this tournament between Gods and Humans on Live Television and for the first time in a long time, Humanity may rise over their Gods

How would you personally react to this news?

I am a guy who easily accepts the weird and absurd relatively quickly unless it’s something to do with my personal life

But I would be interested in seeing “it” all if only to legitimately be amazed by something I would only see in fiction

What i meant is how would you react to every religion being true? How would this effect the worlds religious beliefs?

Accept it pretty quick and expect for Azathoth to be around as the one true God, with everyone else a dream or a facet

And before you ask, I like reading bits of Elder Scrolls lore

Best variation of Syncretism

Yahweh/Jehovah/Allah/Azathoth/YHWH/Brahma/Eru Illuvatar/Aten/Great Spirit

How would the world react?

I’m pretty sure most First World Nations are increasingly irreligious, so they’ll care more about the inevitable apocalypse and perhaps fall back to trying to futilely appeasing these Gods in the hopes of averting the end

The rest, may vary

That said, an attempt at nuking said “Gods” may occur, followed by said “Gods” literally deconstructing those bombs into their base components

How would the Scientific community react?

It will divide the "scientists" from the scientists

Some may be "atheists" who may just be atheists to look cool, others maybe atheists because they just didn't care about religion and there are scientists who can still believe in God and will probably consult some theology and decide these "Gods" maybe some part of the universe that may experience time differently and may not really even be sapient to begin with

The last will despair that they're not the Dwemer

It would be fake.Becouse if Greek goods exist, there is no place for hindu or Asgard pantheons. We have one world, which means that it must be created either by One God,or one partheon.
That "angel" would be some lying alien - or product of deep state.
Destroing mountain proof nothing - you must proof, that You/your pantheon created Universe.

So thar people can understand the Angel.

The universe works on belief. The more people belief in something the more it becomes real. You need a minimum of 1.000 followers to make a God exist. The angel also explains that since creation runs on the many world interapation of multiverse theory there are an infinite cavalcade of universes where the Gods have many followers thus all of them are of simmiliar power.

Multiuniverse change nothing.
It still must be created by One God or one pantheon. And if gods exist thanks to belivs, then they are no gods. And never would be.
Zeus,Shiwa,Odin - if they existed, their existence had nothing to do with beliws.

I create a god of atheism (because Warhammer), by using logic to bring it into existence. Unless there already is a god of atheism, and then I just laugh my head off.

Wouldn’t that god just Fucking Die? Or am i missing something here.

You did, I am stealing the idea from Warhammer (though there is something similar in other works). I am taking the idea from warhammer that if gods are formed from belief, they can be formed from unbelief, because unbelief itself is a belief. So like the source it would be a walking talking paradox, who likely gets weaker than more people believe in it.

Honestly, I think humans can unconsciously believe in something or in a way make “gods” out of something

@Winston Bush
Ever read American Gods by Neil Gaiman?

Many of the New Gods represent things like Capitalism, Globalism, Internet, Television, Railways, Car Brands, Food Brands and so on

Unlike the Old Gods who required belief in specific entities existing, they just need people paying attention to them for long periods of time or to be regular parts of people’s everyday lives

Though, as Shadow thought on near the end, even the New Gods were all worried about being forgotten and eventually replaced. Hell TV or “Media” as she’s known should maybe be really afraid of being replaced by “Technical Boy” or “Streaming”

Though TVs would still be popular if only for the wider screen
