I was 6 years old when Star Wars A New Hope was released. My coworkers are shocked how old I really am. They tell me I look to be in my mid thirties.
That was released about 14mo before I was born. I have "salt in my pepper" and do look like I'm in my mid-40s. Star Wars was old when I was little.

I get that as well. Shoot Darth Shinji thinks I am an Immortal because I look like my grandfather so much. He thinks I just fake my death every 80 years lol.

I remember seeing the Star Wars Christmas special when it aired, I was young, but it happened because my father was a sci-fi fan. I was like 21 when I saw Toy Story in theaters with my best friend because we wanted to see this computer animated movie (because geeks). I may not have kids but I have great grand nephews and nieces and I try to foster that geeky family spirit.

Did My parents have me late? My parents were born in the early 70s and I'm only in my 20s they don't even have grandkids let alone great grandkids.

Unless people are having kids at like 14 millianals are not quite old enough to have grandkids

My parents were born in the late 30's early 40's and I was a surprise baby no one expected to get. I do have a sister that had a child at 14 but I also have older half-siblings from my father's first marriage. A lot of people used to not start having kids in their 30's back in the 70's but nowadays it seems like they have them real early or real late.

Damn and I thought I had Old Parents. With my Father being born in 1908 and my Mother in 1936. Yep back in the 70s that did happen quite a bit.

Oh,oh, seems like Disney is getting a visit from an Activist investor.
Hopefully they demand real change, and not just a double down on the woke.

if Disney is not careful they are going to CREATE racism if they haven't already. Watching discourse devolve the last couple of years you know what lesson I'm afraid people are going to learn.

"Stay in your lane! Don't travel outside of your home/tribe don't share, appropriate or even interact with other cultures. Don't stray from the truisms and folklore of your ancestors. indigenous knowledge is the only true wisdom."

Are we sure that the political and corporate elites aren't trying to reestablish year zero? Because where we are heading is a good way of doing so. The only thing we are missing is complete environmental rearrangement and frankly, we are just one mass nuclear strike away from that.

Anyone that lets the media turn them into a racist is an idiot. They should know they are being mind gamed by Rich Moneyed elites that want people to fight amongst themselves.

and yet it's happening. and it seems like non-progressives are falling for it now. This may be a bit of a hot take, but IMO if you are a 3rd generation or more American, you're no longer an *Insert foreign national ethnicity here*-American, you're just straight up an American.

One side of my grandfather could trace his roots to the scott-Irish my grandmother can trace her roots to the English and German people. This does not make me Irish or German America. Everything I know about these cultures comes from books music and internet videos. I have as about as much "Right" to the culture as any other non-native. And I almost guarantee you that most "African" Americans have about as much claim to African culture.

If we are so concerned about cultural purity and think cultural appropriation is really as bad as people think it is. (Spoilers I care not for cultural purity, nor do I cultural appropriation is bad.) Then America needs to stop trading ideas with other nations and making our own folklore and sticking with our own kind.... or you know, cut this race-bait crap and judge something on its merits.

I am getting so tired of seeing the progressives using race and culture as a shield and it pains me to see our side doing it as well. and before anyone asks. "What do I have without a culture?" yourselves people. You have yourselves; you have the talents that God gave you and you have those whom you decide to get close to.

I get that there are some days when you can get so depressed you don't really see yourself as a person. At best, you're another cog in an abstract collective machine, at worst you're a nuisance or even in illusion but frankly, I consider that a cancerous way of thinking.

and for those in America that think America is so irredeemable and your "Ancestral homeland is SO MUCH BETTER" you don't have to stay you know.

Funny enough, I think Disney had a perfectly valid reason they could have used for the casting choice they made, they just didn't bother to use it.

"The Walt Disney Company chose Hallie Bailey on account that she is both a young fresh actress and a talented vocalist. We at The Walt Disney Company wanted to make sure that whom we chose was most qualified to perform the task required to play the part and possibly be able to capitalize on it for future career and project prospects. Of all the people who auditioned we believe Hallie Bailey to be the most qualified. Neither Race nor ethnicity played a factor in one way or the other, nor do we believe it should."

but no It's always "Muh racist" The fact that they are pulling the race card makes me think that the movie is going to be terrible, and I feel bad that Hallie is being used as a sacrificial lamb/meat shield. She's definitely pretty and she's got some pipes on her.....Mellisa McCarthy on the other hand....I have no idea why she was cast as Ursula. (Seriously Disney you guys have been working on this movie since 2016 why didn't you approach Rebel Wilson back when she was still heavier set. She already nailed it on stage or better yet Queen Latifah, whom also nailed it on stage)

It isn't just the progressives anymore. You have Race grifters on the Far Left and Far Right trying to cause problems. Both Groups are pushing for an ethnostate. To be honest if I had the power. I would deport both groups to Russia and be done with it.

as horrible and racist as it is, sometimes I wonder if Liberia and maybe other migration ethnostates should have remained on the table. ethnonationalist don't want to be here in the US (unless it's to their design) and frankly, I don't want them here.

It has the multiracial ginger girl with freckles that's in everything nowadays.

She was in Solo as a Terrorist That Later Turns Out to be a Youthful Rebel Leader.

And she was in Falcon & and the Winter Soldier as a Terrorist That Later Turns Out to Be a Youthful Rebel Leader.

Actually I think that's all she's ever been in.

Better hope that Disney doesn't purchase Command & Conquer, Splinter Cell or Metal Gear or something. I got an idea of who they might cast as the "antagonist."

Meh, despite arousing bizarre amounts of nostalgia, Willow was a terrible movie that was truly notable only for certain innovative special effects by ILM.
The villains are memorable (Skull-face general, "You're pigs, you're all pigs! Mwahahahaha"), but the acting and plot were pretty shit.
