That has absolutely no correlation with the An-2, which is a massively bigger aircraft with a high-drag frame. Your argument is like claiming a semitrailer should be super high performance because it has more horsepower than a Porsche.
I was giving a comparison for just how big an An-2's engine is, FWIW. The Nakajima Sakae used by the Mitsubishi A6M was the first one I thought of.

Think engineering trade-offs: You have this much power, here's what you can do with it but you can only do some of it this time.

I'm actually impressed those airframes are still flying.

Yeah it's not known how many they have left in service from the original seventy nine or so with most guessing around twenty or so but those that did remain started to be modernized back in 2017 to the 'AM' variant which allows them to use giant ass Hawk Air Defense missiles in an air to air role or indigenously produced Fakour-90 air to air missiles that use the Hawk's homing guidance system and the AIM-54 Phoenix airframe. The result is a missile with shorter range than the AIM-54 but... Iran can at least produce them.

Flying boats are so bloody cool. The look, the purpose, and seeing them in action are all "chef's kiss."

Speaking of flying boats, I don't believe the venerable Sunderland has been posted here yet. Behold:

They look too bloated for my taste.

Of course, tech has advanced since WWII.

The nose of that thing though, reminds me more of goofy than the ones I do like to call goody.

(Sees someone chatting shit about the Sunderland)

(Day immediately ruined)

Your taste is trash and your opinion has been summarily discarded.

May God have mercy on your soul.

The Boeing Clipper is the most aesthetically majestic and magnificent civilian aircraft of all time, even beating out the mighty 747.
The Boeing 314 Clipper and the one-off Boeing XB-15 had the same wing but the former had better engines. Same goes for the Boeing 309 Stratoliner and the B-17B/C/D. The Boeing 377 Stratocruiser? Let's turn a B-29 into an airliner/cargo plane.

Note: The XB-15 spent WW-2 hauling cargo while the B-17 and B-29 could and did from time-to-time carry heavy and/or high value cargo long distances ... if the cargo could fit inside the bomb bay.
