US Army European and African Commands to be Merged and Based in Poland

So this seems like a long needed move, one that will streamline the command structure across the two closely tied theaters, and will see a large command contingent moving to Poland.

Seems silly to get rid of Africom only thirteen years after creating to focus on very Afrocentric military and strategic issues which can broadly deviate from the issues Europe or Centcom would have to deal with.

Then again maybe the DoD is assuming that with the ongoing migrant crisis and demographics shifts EUCOM and AFRICOM will be indistinguishable soon enough anyways.

You are right.And considering how "united" muslims are,instead of one caliphate we probably would have 10 smaller fighting over who is real one.
