Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered on June 18th, shot in the parking lot of a Sikh Temple in Surrey, Canada after evening prayers. He was forty five years old. Previously Police in British Colombia announced no evidence linking the murder to foreign interference.

Global News said:
Canadian national security authorities have obtained "credible" intelligence suggesting "agents of the government of India" were behind the June murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a prominent Sikh leader in B.C., Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says.

Trudeau disclosed the intelligence to the House of Commons Monday. He said he also raised it with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 summit in New Delhi earlier this month, and Canadian officials have been in contact with India's government and intelligence agencies.

The new intelligence is contrary to statements from police in British Columbia who have said they had no evidence that the killing was linked to foreign interference.

"Over the past number of weeks, Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the government of India and the killing of a Canadian citizen, Hardeep Singh Nijjar," he said.

Nijjar was active in the Khalistani movement which supports the creation of an independent Sikh State in India and is considered a terrorist organization in India and certain Sikh-Canadian Citizens 'extremists.'

An exiled secessionist shot in a parking lot in a nice neighborhood in a Western country?

Would've been weirder if it wasn't assassination.
Worst part is that the murder took place in an area of the Greater Vancouver area across from the Fraser River, known for a crap ton of Indians there (East Indians, not the First Nations one). It isn't an accident that Surrey, BC has a bad rep for being murder prone. So in a sense, certain BC related tragedies and incidents are close to where I live.

India responded by kicking out Canadian diplomats out of their country.

Vancouver, British Columbia is where '21 Jump Street' was filmed on location for 5 seasons (1987-1991).

So the Indian govt has started to Sikh assassins on people who Sikh independence?

Because I don't expect them to make that call in America's Hat. Course, Biden being in charge may have meant something here.
That's the thing. It's not in America proper, just an American vassal state. The general populace in the US doesn't care about Canadians getting assassinated so doing nothing won't hurt Biden domestically, while India is both geostrategically important and could leave the US's alliance system if it wanted. Canada doesn't have that option so their concerns aren't important.
