Nope, literally a biological term when referring to what sex a person is.

Good for those bisexual women, but they certainly aren't in a lesbian relationship if they are sleeping with a male.

You're dodging the question. How do you determine what a woman is? Because as it is, it sounds like you think the definition of women is "individual who identifies as a woman".

FINA also proposed a new "open competition policy" that would allow transgender athletes to compete in another category. The organization stated that "a new working group that will spend the next six months looking at the most effective ways to set up this new category."

"We have to protect the rights of our athletes to compete, but we also have to protect competitive fairness at our events, especially the women’s category at FINA competitions," Al-Musallam said in a statement.

I'm seeing a number of meltdowns on the Internet over this. For some reason they don't want to Trust the Science after the organization spent a ton of time reasearching things and consulting with scientists.

The age 12 restriction makes a whole lot of sense. 12yr old boys and 12yr old girls are about the same size. That's about when boys start becoming bigger and stronger while girls start becoming curvy and busty.

Either way, the kid is probably about as tall as their mother.
