Its exactly as it sounds! As you all well know after the shooting at Covenant a wave of pro Trans and Antigun protestors stormed and illegally entered the State Legislature Chamber three Democratic Lawmakers welcomed them in and also began protesting alongside them with one even assaulting a fellow Republican lawmaker and well...

Tennessee GOP begins expulsion process for 3 Democrats, House session devolves into chaos

They are now facing expulsion for it.

They represent cityfolk. They'll almost certainly be replaced by - hopefully more level-headed - Democrats in the next election.

EDIT: The one considering a lawsuit over it is going to see that get laughed out of court if they do file one.

Tennessee ranks damn near last when it comes to elected female legislators as a percentage of the total, but that's not what is going to get bitched about when it comes to the white gal keeping her seat while the black guys were expelled.

Yup.

Republicans are dumb, and they've turned this around into the worst situation possible for them, and it'll be used against Republicans nationwide.

No, they should have expelled all 3, is what I am saying. Don't tell me what I seem to be saying.

Rather than just expelling the two black men and saying whitey can stay.

If not that, then the next best option is let all 3 stay. That legislature is 75% republican. It's not like 3 democrats can do much legislatively.

The WORST option, is to kick out the black guys and let the white person stay. And that's the route they took.

Special elections will be held for 2 of the vacant districts in the TN House of Representatives.

While Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax & America's Real Voice are justifying the explusions.

The county gets to appoint a replacement to fill the vacancy. The county can appoint the expelled member to fill the vacancy which was caused by the expulsion.

I'd have to look it up but, IIRC, one of the expelled members said that he thinks he'll be appointed to fill the seat vacated by his expulsion from the legislature.

You're referring to the Davidson County & Shelby County Mayors have to make appointments in filing the vacancies correct ? 🤔
