Just more of Warner Bros desperation. Same reason they are rebooting Harry Potter.

Though honestly? The anime movie doesn't sound too bad - though Kenji Kamiyama is... not who I would have picked.

The dude really hasn't done anything notable since Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. Other than some storyboarding for Haikyuu, a sports anime, he hasn't been involved with a single project over 7.5 on MAL in the past decade, with most falling well under 7.

I'd be happy to be wrong about it, though, and I have more hope for an anime LOTR movie than a modern Western live action one.

Rebooting Harry Potter, I think, isn't going to work.

Love them or hate them, movies and actors/actresses, the cast and original films defined Harry Potter, just like how Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy defined Lord of the Rings, despite there being previous (animated) adaptions.

Think Lord of the Rings? Think Peter Jackson.

What they should've done is an animated or 3D series with the original cast back as voice actors/actresses; hell, the fucking Unreal Engine 5 would have been amazing for this, and it would've been budget-friendly too in comparison.

This series is going to flop, and I say this as a die hard Harry Potter fan.
