As a nerd who was bullied constantly until I got to high school and finally got bigger, most nerds are socially stunted specifically because of bullying. There's also that whole jock stereotype which has some truth to it, and in any case when we're getting bullied for liking stuff like Star Trek and the like instead of sports, it has the effect of discouraging wanting to get into any of the "normie" stuff and encouraging us to group together for moral support if nothing else. The irony is that we were so open to taking in whoever we took to be social outcasts that our groups got taken over from within by these people who see being "nerdy" as like this trendy thing that they think looks cool, and a good chunk of the nerds got on board with this because they apparently thought this was their ticket to being seen as "cool" themselves, and those of us who didn't go along with this were once again cast out and bullied by these people calling themselves nerds. The thing is, neither they, nor the more "normal" types who bullied me growing up were ever terribly intelligent, and it amuses me that you seem to think the ones doing the bullying are in any way "balanced" as you apparently were. I, perhaps, might approach that, but only because I had a gym teacher (who doubled as a history teacher incidentally) who actually had us lift weights for a while, and I actually got into it. I might suck at any variation of sports ball, but it's hard to fuck up lifting weights. So like I said, I got bigger, and the bullies finally left me alone aside from a few verbal jabs from time to time. I suppose it also "helped" that I was never able to get into the "tech" field, and so actually had to work for a living.
I'd honestly say both sides if this shit are because of how horrible the public education system is, I think by design. A lot of teachers probably don't know any better because they were brought up through the same system themselves, but considering the culture that has been brought up to celebrate stupidity and ignorance in both urban and rural areas, I think it intentional. Someone has wanted us to be stupid and it has gone exactly according to plan.
Honestly, when it comes to these commies of various stripes, I view them in much the same light as the conspiracy theory types who go on and on about the "Illuminati," with a lot of them being just nucking futs. With feminists it's "patriarchy" and with the commies it's "capitalism" as the great evil that is pulling the strings behind the scenes, and they all feel smarter for being able to see it where the rest of us can't. The crazy thing is, the way things are going,
I'm starting to think the "Illuminati" types might have been on to something.
