They manage to get past the wall before canon and spread over the North to begin “killing” the population

The helmets if you watched the extra videos, actually make it hurt a LOT more, to the point the Ginosaji actually puts the helmet back on to increase the suffering

That is what I was referring to, actually. Helmet does stop physical damage, but the noise is unbearable.

Well, they're not really White Walkers now, are they? Replace their ability to kill things with weapons and vulnerability to specific weapons to ability to "kill" things with spoons and not die to anything. Admittedly they'd still win in the end, given they can't be fought off now, but it'll be a long time before they actually kill anyone (except via starvation and/or people snapping and killing each other)

Well, just re-watched the original, noticed the Ginosaji prevents a suicide, so seems snapping and killing each other might not actually bring an end to the pain of a murder attempt that. just. never. ends.
